Anyone have problems with your Cameron paint fill? In particular the sight line paint fill?

I've had my Cameron Studio Select for a couple months or so now and as I walked off the practice green today I noticed that about half of the paint fill on the sight line was gone. No idea what happened to it but it just was peeling off. I take extremely good care of my equipment and especially good care of my putter. I can't imagine the paint fill already peeling? Anyone else have this problem?

I ended up just taking a tee and chipping the rest of it off. Looks fine without the paint fill, but still think it shouldn't have been peeling.

If you did the paintfill yourself, did you fully remove the original paint?

Also, what paint did you use? Some testers paint is the best for durability. If it comes off...it dosnt matter, just paint it back!

I've had four Camerons and no issues with paint. 3 of them were used. My mid-slant was new and has been in my bag for the last 12 month (off and on).

No problems. My only beef is that the grips age quicker than any type/brand of club I've ever used.

No I didn't paint it myself. The putter is two months old and is in perfect condition.

My grip is getting a little slick right now but it's still OK. No need to change anytime soon.

Shoulda bought a Betti. JK. Well, if it is brand new, you take good care of it and wipe it down when it gets dirty or damp on early morning rounds, I don't see why it would come off. If you didn't take care of it, I might say fertilizer residue perhaps was the culprit. From everything you tell me, I'd guess it's just faulty painting.

I would try calling the factory and seeing if they can help you out. That shouldn't happen.

Kind of what I was thinking. I seem to have the worst luck when buying new equipment.

Yeah, going to email them tomorrow. They are pretty responsive via email from my previous experiences.

I haven't resolved it yet simply because I don't want to be without my putter for a couple weeks. I called Cameron though and they told me it had a year warranty and that all I had to do was get the place that I purchased the putter from to send it back to Cameron and they would refill the paint for me free of charge. So, that's what I'm going to do once winter sets in.

Cool. Glad to hear they are gonna take care of you.

If you don't want to have to bother sending it back to Cameron, just fill it yourself with some white acrylic paint. It should look just as good as it would paintfilled. I say try that and if it doesn't look that good just acetone/chip it off and send it back. I've pretty much stopped babying my clubs since it seems like the harder I try to keep them looking good the more I get burned. My putters not even 2 weeks old and it's already got a knick from an accidental bump against my sand wedge. As long as it doesn't hurt the performance of the club, I just touch it up as best as I can and then move on. I've got a skymark on my driver and 3 wood, both I've touched up with black hobby paint, and a small knick in the bottom edge of my putter and really don't worry about them, they just personalize it more lol.

I've thought about that but I have OCD with my clubs and I'd like the paintfill to be redone correctly. Especially since it's not going to cost me anything.

At a driving range here in Lexington. They ordered it special from Titleist/Cameron because I had it customized differently than the standard. I have all my clubs worked on there and it's one of the best ranges in the country (according to Golf Digest). So, they're a pretty reputable place.

    • Played Musgrove Mill today. 72.3/155. +9 for 15 official holes as 2 holes are closed, and the par 5 16th plays as a converted par 3. We played the first three holes over to finish 18, and parred 1 and2 amped bogeyed 3. The good: hit every fairway. 1 less than normal for the converted par 3, but the second time I have done that this year. My sand wedge approach on 10 after a monster drive hit the pin in the back left corner hit he pin and spun away to 9’, and I missed the putt.   The great: hit 8 GIR and 7 were inside 10’. Needs work: Missed every birdie putt. No lip-outs. Just struggled on fast greens. Three-putted the par-5 9th with the pin on the back tier and jut missed hitting my approach to the proper level and it spun all the way to the front of the green.
