Well yesterday i finally did two things. I won our 18 hole club championship with a 27 hole(the back 9 got rained out the first day but i finished and shot 74!!!!) score of 109 with the par being 108!!!! Now i get to move up to the mens next year! I also shot my first round of par with a great up and down for birdie on the par 5 18th with 35 ppl watching!!!!! So i am very happy with this but to top it off i got my handicap to a 2.9 which was my goal for the summer I feel soooo good about all of this. This is the first time i have wn a tournament even though i was expected to win last year but choked so for the first time i pulled through. I also won by 16 for 27 holes!!! I am sooooo happy!!!

Nice! Holy crap, if I remember correctly, you were around a 10 handicap last year. How did you shave so many strokes off? I need advice.

It was a 12 at the beginning of this year lol!!! I just started to practice religiously(everyday) and i get free balls at the range so i hit alot of balls(on the range for bout 2-3 hrs and i dont hit woods the whole time mostly 70 yds to 130 yds) then go chip for 1-2 hrs and then play 9 holes and then practice whatever i screwed up on..... but i have alot of time on my hands.... what really shaved strokes is my short game practice and wedge practice. Through all my practice my misses are alot tighter, which has helped.

Thanks for the advice, it really gives me hope. I've been stuck at 10 for about a year probably. I just got driving range membership and my drivers license so I can start practicing more. But, I've also had a busy summer so not enough practice time. Next summer will be great, all practice!

    • Great year last year. Who winning this year could be another special story? Brooks? Spieth? Or Aberg? An AM? I dont know if anything could top last year
    • I love Rancho Park too!  I don't get out there much due to the 405 issues (Im in Santa Clarita) but I do try and get out there every now and then...last time out was in January where I eagled 17 (left green) with a holed 145 yard third shot ! Rancho is a great course! And at 24 bucks weekday with the city card, an absolute steal!
    • I have played PGA West, at least one or two courses in there, but I am not sure if I've played any of the courses used to host the Hope. I played a course that I think both isn't PGA West and is host to the Hope a few years ago, possibly at a TST outing, but I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right one. I have played Rancho Park plenty of times (exactly half of my sub-80 rounds were there!) and Wilson/Harding.  Rancho Park might be my favorite golf course among those I've played more than a half dozen times.   Hopefully I'll get a chance to play TPC Scottsdale, maybe this August or September, and at some point I think there was a PGA Tour event in Las Vegas, I should get up there and play those course(s).
