well dudes i figure i would share here, other than one other good buddy of mine, you might be the only guys who care!! hahaha!!!!

i have been playing so well the past month or so, it really is wierd
i have dropped my hcp from an 8 to just under a 4, in one month

i have increased practice time, working mainly on my short game/putting
i now practice approx. 4-5hrs/week and get in 36-54 holes/week

i have finally found a good shaft/ball combo and BOOM! things are just clicking
today i shot even par on 9 holes, and literally should have been -2...as i left 2putts on the rim (grrr!!!)

i am through my equipment changes and now just everything is good

my 2010 goal is to get down to a 2 or better index to get a try out for the SK mens open
if i qualify, i want to try and make the cut and golf the weekend
this is a Canadian Tour event........i just wanna say i could hang w the BIG BOYS!!!

after my round today, i stayed to putt/chip some more
i couldnt miss a putt tonight
anything from 15ft in, i was nailing

i walked of the practice surface laughing at myself
this honeslty is THE BEST GOLF i have ever played - i really am in a groove!!

anyways....thxs for listening!!!

enis

PS - thx to all sandtrappers - i have read and learned a lot from you guys, you have been a great help in my development - THIS SITE FRICKEN RULES!!!!

I just have to ask, do you work on a golf course? If not what do you do that affords you that much time to practice?

haha! figured this question would come up no i dont work on a golf course - i'm a Mortgage Broker the 2009 year has been VERY good to me (income wise) im not even a member anywhere, i just golf wherever no boss, no sales targets, no set hours i come and go as i please and basically do what i want before every round i will practice at least 45 mins. and after a round if i cant do that or get in a few rounds, I will spend it putting/chipping i rarely hit balls on the range, only if i need to work on something specific 95% of my practice routine is spent on short game, and i have made dramatic results because of this next year will be the first year i will be a memeber, since i was a junior - cant wait!!!

well I figured I would resurect this topic for a moments
since posting I went through a few tough rounds that bumped me back closer to a 5 again (I originally posted this at a 3.6 I think)

this weekend I golfed 36 and I tell ya, It was a journey
first 18 was on a decent course that plays just over 6900 yds
shot a 78, but very up and down w 2 doubles and 1 birdie

today was a doozey
heres some highlights:

*4 birdies today (most in one round for me this year)
*only 25 putts
*shot 77
*zero 3 putts

BUT, here are the "non-highlights":

*shot 77, but should have been a 72
*2 doubles
*3 FW hit & 6 GIR
*shanked my tee shot on a 175yd par 3, into a 2 club wind (literally went 60 yds right)

I am struggling to eliminate the one hole blowups
going into 17 I was -2 for the back nine
proceeded to then go double, bogey to finish at 77
I do blame a part of this score on shitty grips - im sorry, Im not one to make excuses, but I will
I havent installed my Golf Pride MC ND's yet, and i seriuosly think it had a major impact on today
I was missing FW's, GIR's and hitting some terrible shots - i almost tossed my clube down the FW today, because my hands were slipping so bad (dont wear a glove either)

If i could avoid one hole blow ups or the odd fat or thin shot, I know I could be playing to a 1 or 2 index....i know it

BUT...my Scotty was on FIRE TODAY!!!! I have never hit 25 putts this year - was pretty stoked about that though........end rant
