Don't feel bad, I've been playing for 20 years and still have hard time hitting my SW flush. I just prefer it for around the greens and chipping. Prefer my PW from 80 ft in.

I have difficulty hitting my SW off tight lies.  My propensity to flip combined with the tight lie results in a sculled shot that rockets across the green.  I keep telling myself "hands forward," but I just don't seem to listen to me.

Lately my partial swing wedge shot (9 iron through SW actually) has been a go to shot.  Normally with a partial swing I take a big divot.

The feeling is that you are dragging the club through the shot.  Not an arm swing, drag that club through with rotation and try and hit the ball with the middle of the club face, like you are covering it.  The ball will be flighted down but go high enough.  If you do it correctly it will stop on a dime.  If you really pure it the ball will pull back a few feet.

Fun shot to practice.

That makes me feel better, I use a PW for the most part as well for similar shots.
