Hello fellow golfers. Traveling with father to Palm Springs in April , renting car in Long Beach Ca, driving to Palm Springs then onto Vegas. Can anyone suggest a course <100$ to play somewhere in between Long beach and Palm Springs? Also any suggestions for a Las Vegas Area course. I already Played Primm which was pretty nice but looking for a new track. Thanks

I just got back from Vegas a month ago, and $100 round of golf is pretty tough to find. I'd suggest

Angel Park , The Arroyo Golf Club at Red Rock , and Rhodes Ranch . If you want more expensive courses, they're every where in Vegas. I played at TPC Canyons which was a very fun course but a tad expensive at $220. Also any of the courses at Lake Las Vegas are fun and very scenic. Hope that helps

Try here... http://vegasgolfer.com/ then click the course guide link.

As far as between LB and PS I've played Oak Quarry http://www.oakquarry.com/ for $40 with cart which is one hell of a deal for this place.

I've yet to play this place http://www.scpgagolf.com/general/html/home.html but this is the PAT (Players Abilities Test) site for PGA pros in SoCal. I've driven past it a number of times on the way to Palm Springs and it looks phenominal, I've heard from friends and other people that it's great too.

This is Palm Spring's prime time of year. I don't think you'll find any courses that allow non-member play for under $100. But, I could be wrong.

Sinatra, I just saw this, sorry it took me so long. I am doing an article for this on my website soon and will do Vegas/Utah this summer. For inexpensive and terrific value, try the Revere at Anthem, Wolf Creek, The Falls, La Quinta Mtn and, if the price is right (go in low season and it plummets from $260 to $75)...PGA West Stadium Course. I also like the Red Rock Arroyo course Taylor Made mentioned.

I've played Painted Desert, Wolf Creek (mesquite), Las Vegas Golf Club & Rio Secco (several times).

Painted Desert was cool. It was "resorty" if that is a word. It was a nice layout.

Las Vegas Golf Club is a muny. We played there and suddenly a great big rain storm came up. I mean BIG rains. Those a'holes wouldn't give us a rain check there. So I don't like them.

Rio Secco (home of Butch Harmon) is quite cool. A buddy of mine is (was perhaps now) a high roller at the Rio and we got several FREE rounds of golf there! Rio Secco is cool, but around 150-200 bucks.

Wolf Creek (in mesquite) nevada is amazing. It was made in the red rock desert and some of the holes are so extreme they had to fly in the tractors with helicopters. Some of the tee boxes have railings so you don't fall off a cliff and kill yourself. It is very scenic. It is also $200. The views are awesome but from a golf purist's standpoing it is a little like a circus. I just blogged a photo from there.

If you are going to Mesquite you can play at the Casa Blanca which should be under $100. That is a tough track. The "Oasis" is an Arnold Palmer track very close to Wolf Creek. It is very nice.

But if you want TRUE value, continue up I15 to another 30 minutes to St. George Utah. Look at the Courses: Sunbrook (27 holes), Greenspring, Coral Canyon, Entrada, Sky Mountain. Most are 40-80 bucks and every bit as cool as many $250 courses in vegas.

I've got a few new shots from St. George in my blog: http://hookedongolf.blogspot.com .

Have fun!

Thanks to your persuasive comments about Wolf Creek in Mesquite NV, we went a few weeks back and we loved it!

We also played Oak Quarry in Riverside CA

Thanks again!

Cool, what'd you think of Oak Quarry, particularly their signature par 3 in the quarry...

superb track... too bad I got to play it with 30mph winds

the par3 in question was downhill and it was a 9i if I remember correctly... wasn't a 180yds hole?

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
