guys- every year near the end of the season my swing evolves into a monster- i loose distance like crazy because i am releasing too early, and prolly some other things too.

i also have problems with cupping my left wrist in my backswing and i heard there is a glove you can get to promote keeping a flat left wrist. is that effective and should i get one?

any other good drills for this problem? normally i hit 155 with an 8 iron and i'm using a 6 irons for that distance now... sucks so bad.

All i can say is distance loss is due too coming over the top which always
causes casting.Big cause of it is taking the club back to far inside instead of down the line.Hope it helps.

Its hard to explain in writing, try and youtube a video about taking club back, but i always make sure on my downswing that my right shoulder goes under the left, don't throw that right shoulder out.
I was doing the very same as you last year, had to take two clubs extra to get
to greens, got a lesson and what happened me was i started taking the club back to the inside which causes all those problems. Was very frustrating.

Make sure that you are not rolling the wrists over when you take the club back. They need to hinge and not roll over. When you they do this, it gets the club really flat and inside. Another thing that causes a distance loss is not having a bowed wrist at impact. One problem I used to have is the "scoop" at impact. You can still hit the ball good this way, but it will hit it higher and you will lose distance.

I have the same problem. I used to hit 8 iron 155 yards, and now I use 6. Thank you so much you guys. I was thinking about my take away and my swing plane for a long time. but wasn't sure. I have no one to check for me, so I use my webcam. I think this is it.

I've heard good things about the golf gloves with the wrist aid in them that only let's you cock your wrist the correct way. Would you reccomend one of those ? They are 25$ on eBay
