After five years of intense study, practice, instruction and playing I have come to the conclusion that none of the known swing methods result in a reliable, repeatable swing for me. The reason is that I cannot develop a repeatable pivot. A 1/4" tolerance is needed for solid ball contact. Impossible.

So I just use intuition based on my experience that 1) clubhead must descend to hit the ball on the rear inside quadrant 2) hands must stay ahead of the clubhead throughout and 3) only gravity can provide the downswing force - any muscular effort (even the smallest tweak) can result in inconsistency.

I use a minimal pivot maybe 45 degrees at most to toss the club back to where the left arm ends up roughly parallel to the ground. Let gravity deliver it back to the ball. Any pivot in the downswing is passive, driven by momentum of the initial toss.

The result is ball compression 75% of the time. Distance and trajectory is amazing considering the simplicity of this move.

Nothing new. You won't see any golf *professional* espousing this swing.

The simpler you make it the better you will do. This is about as simple as it gets.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

If those thoughts bring you solid contact and fairly straight shots then keep it up. I mean could tell you that what you think and what you actually do don't always match but results matter. I can't tell you how many times I've described to others what I think I am doing and why it works only to realize when I stopped getting results that it wasn't quite so. I hope it continues to work for you.

    • Day 47: simulator day! Played St. Andrew’s and shot a +1. Not bad, especially with having to putt at this simulator set up. Had about 5 minutes at the end to work on some feels as well.
    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.
    • Day 151 1-11 flow work today. I've been doing all pause work, so Inwanted to get some rhythm going. Recorded.

    • So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands
