I just picked up a dozen of these after hearing a couple good things about 'em. ther the "newer" ones that say 10 yards longer 29% softer or whatever.. so anyone have any experience with these?

The Noodles are my favorite cheap golfballs. The only hit against them is that they don't have any alignment aids. It's pretty much the only ball that doesn't have any to speak of. Get one of these and you'll be great...

I've heard a lot of good things about them, too. I've had some bad luck with them, but I'm not going to blame my terrible golf game on the balls I use :)

I'm going out to try them out again tomorrow.

I used to hit the regular "Noodle" ball - but I have since found the "Noodle Softest" ball. I prefer that much more than the standard Noodle. Give it a try. Distance seems to be about the same if not a hair bit shorter, but the feel is SOOOO much better - particularly for the short game. It also seems to have a higher ball flight. More of a carry and than a roll ball.

I can't find 'em at the bigger golf stores (Golf Galaxy, GolfSmith, etc.) But you can find them at Walmart and Target.

If you like the regular Noodle, I think you'll love the Noodle Softest.

What I Play:

Driver: R9 460
4 Wood: G15

Hy: Callaway FT 3Hy

Irons: AP1 4-PW

Wedges: Vokey 52* & 60*, Mizuno MP-T 10 58*

Putter: Newport Studio Select 2.7

Ball: Nike One Vapor

by "regular" noodle, do you mean the noodle long and soft??

and also, dont softer balls create more spin off the driver which makes it more open for slices and hooks.

I gamed these for a while.

They are great balls. Distance is super and the trajectory a bit higher than other balls.

They took spin nicely and bit into the greens nicely. I never had trouble getting them to check up.

Feel off the putter was nice, too.

Perhaps the best value ball in the game!!!!!

Yes. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Noodle ball's slogan has always been "long and soft." I have played both the regular Noodle ball and currently play the Softest Noodle ball and I haven't noticed one being more prone to a slice/hook then the other.

I beg to differ. We went through this earlier this year. The Long & Soft is actually owned by Dicks Sporting Goods, I believe.

Exactly right. That would be the Noodle + Long & Soft...which is owned by Taylor Made.

The Maxfli brand is now owned by Dicks Sporting Goods.

    • Okay, I had these two assumptions wrong. That would be my premise for hitting driver. I promise I'm not high.. lol. Fair enough.

    • Wider than most fairways, yes (thus why I don't hit 100% of my fairways), but most holes I play have 65+ yds between hazards (or areas where I can't easily advance my ball to nGIR) so the majority of the time when I hit driver I am able to find it and have a reasonable look at the green.  That would not necessarily be the case on this hole, especially because a mishit driver brings those left trees into play.   PGA Tour players average 2.82 strokes to hole out from 40yds in the bunker and 3.15 strokes to hole out from 60yds in the bunker.  2.82 strokes to hole out from the fairway is like 110yds and 3.15 strokes to hole out from the fairway is like 190yds.  Now granted I would only have that 50yd bunker shot 1/3 of the time, but it's still a VERY difficult shot especially for amateurs.   Haha trust me I love chasing birdies, but I'm averaging 2.78 birdies per round this year so that's not my issue, I need to make less bogies (5.2 per round) and doubles (0.42 per round)
    • Vishal, what are you doing here? PGA Tour players are about 65 yards wide, often 70. Huh? A 50-yard bunker shot is one of the toughest shots in golf. Are you okay? 🤣
    • Day 608, July 3, 2024 Played 18 holes with a student. White tees. Wasn't really working on my stuff, but hit some really good shots. Drove 16 to the pin-high rough 3" from the fringe. Hit some tremendous long irons.
