Periodically, I will hit a snap hook off the tee. Usually when I go after the long ball. I get so inside that I flip with my right hand for some reason. I am a low handicap player and have explored the usual suspects for this hooking but nothing I try so far has worked.
Any ideas for a newbie on this site.

See if any of these these help out: - Make sure you are not swaying on your backswing (head stable over the ball) - Extend during your back swing (left arm straight) - Don't "cast" the club to start your downswing (drive the butt-end of the club at the ball for your first movement) - Make sure your right shoulder is going "under" your left and you are not swinging across

Snap hooks are typically caused my improper weight shift - staying back through impact. Your arms and hands try to compensate and you come through over released and way too closed. Finish the swing balanced.

What about not making a good shoulder turn?

absolutely. i have the tendency to sometimes not make a good shoulder turn which makes it more of an arm swing and more upright. making the good shoulder turn is one of my major swing keys.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
