I was making steady progress toward building a decent swing. I was hitting my 7 to SW well 90% of the time, and the rest of my clubs well 70% of the time. I took a lesson two weeks ago and it has completely destroyed my swing. I am struggling to hit my SW well 50% of the time now and I have no power. I seem to not be able to shift my weight, I am hitting all my shots fat, off the toe or pulling up and topping the ball.

I have a follow up lesson scheduled this week, should I go and tell him to fix me or lay off for a while? I don't want to piss away more money on bad lessons.

I am considering going the S&T; route just to move to a completely new path trying to shake all the bad habits or hanging up my clubs.

Lessons normally make you play worse for awhile.
But the end result will make you play better just work on what the pro tells you to do.

What did he change?

As someone who has never taken a lesson and really wishes he did, I would say to stick with the lesson and commit 100% to what you are being taught. What kind of reputation does your instructor have? I wouldn't guess that you are "pissing away" money on the lessons.

I was shooting low 90's, went for lessons with the intention of improving, got told I was just lucking out basically, so I got considerably worse. Was shooting >100 for a couple rounds. Back in the 90's now, and I already know that when I get back into it I'll be shooting way better. Stick it out~

You get worse before you get better when you make a big change or many small changes.

Yea, and you also have to be willing to get worse in order to get better in this game.
