After seeing this video, its a lot worse than I imagined. He could have easily hit someone. He didn't care where he was throwing it, and never even looked to where it went. Just expected it back in one piece.

I have a better idea than a money fine. People like Tiger car write checks all day, as his women are well aware of. Give stroke penalties, or take away the club that you threw. That is, if you throw your driver, its confiscated for the rest of the round.

I am so happy to see people finally reacting to the exact reasons I am NOT a Tiger fan. His attitude towards fans and othe competetors is just not acceptable. If it were not for the fans Tiger would just be another club pro somewhere by now. I dont hate Tiger's game I truly respect how great of a golfer he is, but as a person he gets an F in my book!

I'm late to the thread but I want to pose the following: What if other Professionals threw public hissyfits when they made mistakes? Say you were in the chair in your Dentist's office and he curses and throws a tray of instruments across the room. Would you stick around waiting for him to regain his composure and continue? How about you're in the delivery room and your child is coming into the world when the Doc suddenly has a meltdown. I can't imagine my reactions but I can say I would certainly be tempted to seriously display my displeasure at his behavior.

We are the consumers of the professionals product when we are present therefore it is our responsibility to discipline them in a situation like what Tiger created. If we don't Golf is no better than Pro Football or Basketball where criminal activity in personal life and sometimes possibly criminal activity during games doesn't disqualify perpetrators from future participation. And let's face it Fines to super highly paid athletes don't have lasting effects.

My suggestion is voice your displeasure every time you see things like that. Tell the course management, tell the event organizers, tell the sponsors, tell the PGA/USGA. It's your only legitimate weapon. When their money is put in jeopardy changes will occur. Oh and if you don't care about it don't do anything.

Disclaimer: I am not suggesting club throwing or cursing equate to, drugs, gun possession, chair throwing, or slugging fans. I am saying they are damaging to the honor, decorum and spirit of the game.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Can't we let this "issue" die? I think we've all figured out why Tiger's had a hair trigger this year.

Other than this incident with the flying driver, when has he acted poorly towards the fans or competitors?

"If it were not for the fans"? The fans are there because of Tiger, not the other way around. And they are there because he has been the best player in the world for 10 years and has given us some of the best golf entertainment ever. Without the fans, he would still be no.1

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
