Wood Shaft Fitting... Help Please

Okay so i have all the clubs that i was as far as my 5 wood, 3 wood, and Driver but the inconsistency in the shafts is killing me! in my G15 i have a 55 gram Aldila Serrano stiff that im pretty sure is too light for my swing speed and tempo (105-110, and a fairly moderate tempo), and am very inconsistent with it. In my Cleveland Launcher fairway wood i have the stock 65 gram Fugikura shaft, and it feels a little funny at contact and am not sure about it. and the stock shaft in my Taylormade V Steel is just a peice of junk! so what i want to do is get completely fitted for all of these thing by someone who knows what they are doing. i want all the right weight and stiffness and lengths in all my shafts to fit my swing so i can be done with it and finally play my best golf!! Im willing to spend a good chunk of money to do this but where is somewhere where i can get a guy to help me go from shafts A-Z in all brands, stiffness, tourque, length, and weight, so i can finally get this right! Any help would be greatly appreciated im ready to get this right !

also is it usual that shafts weight progresses up and you go from driver to 3 wood to 5 wood to hybrid? Ex. 65-70-75-80? Is that how it usually works? I k now its different for everyone, but just as a general question.

Regarding your question of shaft mix in woods...

I've seen bags arranged two ways:
* Each wood (Driver and FW) as an individual club and unique shaft
* Woods as a "matched set"

I got the HyperX Tours (D and 3W) with the same Fuji shaft; the Slazenger 5W has an equivalent Aldila midkick shaft. (HyperX has no Tour 5W.) The Slazenger feels similar and matches the distance needed.

Other people get a Titleist driver that does A, a Cobra 3W which does B, and a 17* Nickent hybrid which does C.

I would go to someone who can computer-analyze your swing, and make suggestions as to the right wood-hybrid mix. If you don't like your driver, you might consider getting a new one. Being you are a pretty good player, you might want matching 3, 5, and 7 woods with the same shafts, and maybe a little different shaft (or even a different model) on your driver.

By the way, more people than you think are using, or buying, 7 woods. If the 3, 5, 7 works, go with it. Some people - me included - find FW woods much more reliable than hybrids.

Also, I was a bit confused on what you actually carry. Your sig "bag" lists three Cobra fairway woods, but your text talks about a Cleveland Launcher and a Taylormade V-Steel.

Let us know how you decide to "load up," both club type and shaft mix.

i havent been into my signature for a while im sorry. i no longer carry those woods in my bag i now have the G15, the cleveland launcher, and the V steel, and go with the 3 iron from there. but the main thing im looking for is where can i get all of this shaft fitting done in one place and finally get this right? thanks for the information that makes since and is now that i think about it how most people have their shafts arranged. All i want is consistancy in my shafts, weather it be them all being the same, or all being different to fit exactly what i need for that club, but i would really like to know where the absolute best place is to do this where i could try ALL SHAFTS! i realize i wont be able to try them all but i dont wana get anything but the exact shaft i need for all of my woods. thank alot!

You are lucky enough to live in North Carolina. Plenty of golf courses and shops down there. If you have friends who are 4 or 5 handicappers, ask them where to go to get custom fitting. You are serious enough about the game it would be worth the money.

Also, you might want to "start from scratch" and get new woods and driver. Should be able to get some trade-in for your old mix of woods.

From what it sounds like all of the clubs that you talked about have shafts that are too light.
Usually the driver to 3wood increases weight by about 10grams.
Shafts that are too light will most likely create inconsistency.
But shafts that are too heavy will decrease your distance.
This is why it is best to get fitted to your exact specifications.

For example, my swing speed is 105mph and my driver has a 63g, my 3wood has a 75g, and my hybrid has a 96g shaft.

thanks JBL that makes since. i see you have a diamana blue board in your driver and the proforce V2 in your woods/hybrid. those are both excellent shafts and would you mind explaining the general feel, and characteristics of the shafts? im also looking at aldila nv or a graffloy shaft. my G15 is 9 degrees and im looking to raise my ball flight just a little bit from the very low launch shaft i have now(Aldila serrano) but not raise it too much. any thoughts or suggestions?

the diamana blue board (real one) is by far the best shaft i have ever had throughout all of my past drivers.
the shaft is smooth feeling but still has enough stability and power so you can go after it.
i found that this shaft gave me a medium launch with medium to low spin and tight dispersion.
the proforce v2 shafts in my 3wood and hybrid are a little stiffer and less smooth feeling that my diamana.
i wanted this for the lower launch with mid spin and tight dispersion.

i would recommend the aldila dvs 60 driver shaft (weighs 63g)
or possibly the dvs 70 driver shaft (weighs 71g)
these would help raise your trajectory a little bit
