Hey guys... I'm really frustrated.. sad, because I've lost my swing. The last two weeks I didn't played because I was busy at school... so last friday I went to practice and all went wrong, I didn't feel comfortable.

Saturday and Sunday I played a tournament and I played really really bad. I was expecting to shot something between 74 - 76, but no I posted an 89 and I didn't checked the score at sunday.

I tried to go back to basics but I don't even know if I'm gripping the club correctly, I think that most of the problems with my swing start with the grip, but seriously I'm frustrated, cause in Saturday I have another tournament.

Please if you could give me some advices, I will appreciate it.

Greetings!

We all have bad days, believe me, I have PLENTY of them and I still keep having them :) Try to get to the course early, and just warmup a bit beforehand. Maybe you could even get a refresher course from an instructor, perhaps? It'll come back to you :)

If you know any local teaching pros you should go in for a quick tune up lesson. By seeing your swing on camera and letting the pro make a few tweaks you could fix your swing quickly if it is something as simple as your grip. Tell the guy you don't want any major swing changes and that you are a 2 handicapper who's had a sudden loss of swing. They should be able to get you back on track.

When ever I lose my swing I do two things, watch golf instructional videos on You Tube and practice my pitch shots.

The instructional video that I recommend is below:

practicing the pitch shot on grass helps gain confidence and your are practicing in the hitting zone, so the focus is solid contact and direction.

Don't forget your putting and short game.

Thanks for your responses, I went to the range today and I think my swing wants to come back. As I guessed it was my grip, I really don't know why I can't grip it right all the time, cause when I grip it right everything flows natural and I feel comfortable.

Thanks for the vid ks8829, I try to do the same thing watch some videos to find something, I will check this one.

The best thing to do when you feel like that is to go back to basics!
I always find if you practice with your feet together, this usually sorts out any balance/swaying problems.
Also it makes you swing smoothly....otherwise you would fall over!!!!
And the fact you feel so uncomfortable usually FOCUSes the mind.
hope this helps.

My game is going south for the lat 4 weeks , where i shank on my chipping .

That really hurt my confidence as it is the strongest part of my game. Still finding a solution

Whenever I start having trouble with my swing it's usually one (or both) of two things. Either I'm a) having too strong of a grip; or b) standing either too close or too far away from the ball at address.

From my experience, anytime I go out expecting to shoot a certain score, disaster strikes. It's best (I think) to just go out and play, and let the chips fall where they may. For me too when I feel like my swing goes South, it's usually because I'm over swinging. Once I go out and start taking smoother 3/4 swings, I start making good contact again and things start to come around. For my own personal game, I'm convinced that when I start to hit the ball good, my swing gets longer and faster (confidence is high so naturally I try to hit it all out) which will work for a while if my timing is good, but it wont last.

Took the words right outta my mouth....

I always go back to pitch shots, and waist high finishes with a 9 iron to build great contact through the most important 3 inches of golf...the contact zone.
