I'm a bit lucky as I have 2 connections at TPC. I have a relative who works with the Deutsche Bank tournament, plus a friend who works as an outdoor op at the course.

It's starting to get good for golf as far as weather goes here. I can play all year so I can't complain, but in winter it's usually better. I prefer to play in cold, rainy, cloudy conditions than playing in the heat of the summer.
And by cold I mean no less than 14C. It never gets lower than that.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

It should warm up to the mid 60s here next week, I'm gonna try and go then. Probably the last time in '09, the year I took up golf.

You live in Houston right?

Surely the weather there is nice enough to play most of December and plenty in Jan/Feb? I was shocked to hear from a few people down there yesterday that you actually get snow there, much less in December. 30 miles off the Gulf I would assume its pretty nice during the winter there.

It just snowed yesterday, actually. But yeah it stays fairly warm but it can get cold too...but I got family and stuff coming in week after next so I probably won't be able to go the rest of the month.

Well I guess its all what is cold to each individual.

I was out hitting balls at the range last night (open range) and it was 22F! Took me about 20 for my feet to "thaw" out after leaving.

We just had a brutal snow storm last night. The winds created 2' to 3' drifts around the cul-de-sac. I did get to spend about 1 1/2 hours on a quad with a plow clearing out the driveways and road so the neighbors could get their vehicles out. Now I am looking outside and realizing that it will be quite awhile before we see green grass again. Sigh... I will have to be content with the Golf Channel and perhaps a spontaneous trip down to Phoenix.

I went out to a local course in my backyard and practice various chips over some water. It was nice because if I came up short, the water was frozen solid to I could retrieve it easily.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

I played 9 of the coldest holes of my life yesterday. It was 29F before the wind which was blowing at 20 mph. The weather report said the feel was around 17F. It was the most miserable fun I have ever had. The iced over lake on a par 3 turned a double bogey into a par when the ball bounced off of the ice onto the green so I could 2 putt for par. I don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon.
In mySasquatch bag:
07 Burner 9.5°
Hibore XLS 3 & 5 woods

    • Day 1 - First chipping and pitching. Focus on a better grip, the fundamentals and taking the club back on plane, not outside. Feels good. Then some full swings. Focus on improving the setup. Weight more forward, more bent over, and same grip stuff.
    • Congrats on the improvement. Cheers for lots of continued improvement in the future. IMO you've gotta get away from these spots… Those are partly "results" as the work will begin on things earlier in the swing. Good luck.
