Haha, good.It is a load of overblown rubbish.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

I'm jealous. It's supposed to start snowing here either tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow night. Oh well, I got to play about 10 rounds in November, which is probably a record for me here in Michigan.

Global Warming.. maybe.

If global warming is a real issue (let that be up for debate, but I'm a skeptic) then I guess there are some benefits. I'll be golfing on Saturday if we can avoid any more snowfall for the next 2 days. Sure, the high is only expected to be 37, but who can turn down off season rates on one of the nicest courses in the state?

I'm in Providence, RI, but I play in MA alot. Played Swansea CC today, Triggs Memorial Tuesday, and TPC Boston Sunday! Everytime it's nice out I think, "Well, I really should play since it'll probably be my last chance." Then I play the next day, lol.

although i shouldn't complain ... I played @ Kettle Brook. and it was so windy that you couldnt do much. the wind was something like thirty five plus and it did stuff ive never seen( i can credit the marines for my ability to judge winds); it was entirely unpredictable. But it also was a decent learning experience learning how to hit a cut shot into the wind and aiming wayyyy left or right just to get it into the fairway. or just waiting till the wind died to hit driver on a long 4 or 5. nonetheless its december and i got to go out. apologies to those on here from new england that didnt. on another note i do sure hope to play with some of you sometime

    • Shot 50/41 today. I didn't hit the ball particularly well but not as poorly as the score would indicate. I just happened to hit it in some really punishing places that wound up taking one or two strokes just to hit back into play. The undergrowth and the fescue are really growing in at the course. Lipped out and burned a few edges on putts, too. I always say when I miss putts by that small a margin that they're eventually going to drop as long as I don't deviate from the process and that's exactly what started happening on the back 9. I ended up making a couple of mid-length putts. Five over on the back included a triple bogey on 17.
    • Birdied the par 5 #14 at Quail Brook GC. Hit a high draw 3W just short of the green on my second shot, chipped just right of the back right flag to about 12' and made the putt. It's starting to look like I'm going to get at least 20 rounds at Quail Brook for it to qualify as my home course but I've been adding the birdies there to my away composite for so long that I don't feel like separating it all now. So the away composite will simply be an aggregate of all my birdie holes for the year.

    • Day 1 - First chipping and pitching. Focus on a better grip, the fundamentals and taking the club back on plane, not outside. Feels good. Then some full swings. Focus on improving the setup. Weight more forward, more bent over, and same grip stuff.
    • Congrats on the improvement. Cheers for lots of continued improvement in the future. IMO you've gotta get away from these spots… Those are partly "results" as the work will begin on things earlier in the swing. Good luck.
