dub if you like Brad Thor you will probably love Clive Cussler and anything Robert Ludlum writes.

Oh yeah...Ludlum is awesome and I've really enjoyed the adventures of Dirk Pitt.

I'm getting a good start on the Stephen King novel now.....

Four come to mind

I didn't read the graphic novels but did see the movies of each. Interesting. Many made the mistake of thinking the Watchmen was a kids superhero flick.......WRONG!!!!!

most recent book was "the lost symbol" by dan brown.

Read Angels & Demons when it first came out....great book. I read the DaVinci Code next when it was published. I saw the movie opening weekend, too.

I was actually watching the movie of Angels & Demons last night but kept falling asleep during it. I'll try to finish it tonight...after Monday Night Football, maybe. I really enjoyed both of these books and the movies weren't bad, either. It's hard not to like a Tom Hanks flick. He's really developed as an actor.

Not really down with the twight stuff i must say.. If i want to watch two hours of poorly acted teen emo crap ill just sit in the food court at a mall or something..

+1 Absolutely agree. I think it's a sexual thing for teen aged gilrs or so I've been told.

Just finished the match. I couldn't put it down and the sequel came out last month but I haven't gotten it yet. Also The Horse Soldiers. I know it sounds like a western but it's actually about the war in Afganistan.

If you enjoyed the movies give the graphic novels a read. The written word and the film are synergistic and really expand the experience of both genera in this case.

The synergism between book and film IMHO does not occur often but in this case both compliment each other. Perhaps it's due to the richness and complexity of the source .

how's "the lost symbol"? I'm going to read it eventually because Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code were two of the best books ever but I just want to know if it's a "must read as soon as I can" type of book.

Just finished Golf's Sacred Journey: Seven Days at the Links of Utopia it was excellent. Before that I read the Blind Side. Enjoyed that one as well..... In the middle of Damage Control right now.

I just finished The Hunt for Red October and am on Patriot Games. The books I've read in the last few months (take a breath)...

The Science of Golf, Tom Sawyer, Treasure Island, 2010, Of Mice and Men, The Search for the Perfect Golf Club, Catcher in the Rye, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Robinson Crusoe, Oliver Twist, Golf for Dummies, Metamorphosis, and The 9 Bad Shots in Golf.

I think that's all. I left out music books, I read them at a much faster rate.

Those are two great Clancy books.

Wish I had more time to read books. I do a great deal - mostly magazine articles (hard copy and online), but that is work related. In the past 2 months I have re-read the Harvey Penick books (Red, Blue & Green). Those are easy reads and quick to get through, but priceless in info ...
Other than that, I read Lake Wobegon Days again just before Christmas ... a book I highly recommend, particularly if you are from MN, ND or WI.

I'm about a third of the way through Sherlock Holmes. Once you get past the 1880's british writing style it's actually very good. I also read the Lost symbol and was very disappointed. I thought it was way too similar to his other two books. It's like he wrote the same book but just changed the location and secret sect. If you like Clive Cussler you'd probably enjoy Steve Berry or James Rollins.

Dickens' writing is the same way. It takes a while to get used to "Not to cause a row, but might'n a brat be permitted to utter an oath bout' the barrister's lot?" It takes at least ten minutes to translate most sentences.

Just finished The Interpretation of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld. A book featuring Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and friends on the only trip Freud ever made to America. A lot of the characters are historically correct, but most of the events that take place not so much, some are. Freud did take a trip to America, but never wrote or told what happened there. He called americans 'savages' and was obviously not pleased with the trip.

The murder part is fine, the usual mysteries and people, what I liked about it was the psychological aspect. Freud, Oedipus and psychoanalysis is an important part of the book. I've read some novels involving psychoanalysis and psychosis lately, finding in an interesting topic. A good read.

I found the graphic novel and the film where pretty much identical. Its why i wasnt really a big fan of the film. I wanted to see something in the film that i didnt get from the comic.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
