Anybody going to Fenway to watch the game in person? Wish I could, I'll be watching the game on TV... Last year's game at Wrigley was really cool.

Who is playing this year? Also, heard they were thinking of doing 2, one in Canada one in the states?

Last year was pretty cool, especially since I'm a Wings fan. This year I just hope they can make the playoffs.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

Flyers and Bruins this year... both teams wearing throwbacks... Last year was really cool with Wings and Hawks, two years ago Sabres and Penguins, still have that game recorded

I need to check on one in Canada, the first one they did in Canada with the Oilers and Habs was awesome...

I guess if they do one in Canada again it won't be until next year... http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stor...a.html?ref=rss

Still, I will certainly watch this year, although they say the weather might get dicey.

It all seems a bit too contrived for me. It only vaguely resembles the event the organizers in Edmonton were going for (some sort of homage to the origins of the game which was originally played on real outdoor ice - still is on local outdoor rinks all over Canada and the US - like on 2 rinks about a block from my house). The only part of it that's real is the game - the hockey is the real deal. I enjoyed the first one in Edmonton (on TV - it was reeeeealllllly cold that night). The game in Buffalo had some great moments (Sid the kid was on fire), and the game last year at Wrigley was great if you're a Wings fan.

The only problem is that it's not the people in the stands that get to enjoy the hockey - it's much better on TV. When you've watched and played a lot of hockey, you have certain expectation. Like being able to see the puck, not having to watch with binoculars, and not suffering from frostbite (not an issue when you're bundled up and actually in the game - you gotta keep moving).

Lol I agree. Im sure it is quite difficult for the the people in Fenway to see the game. They are at least 40-50 yards from the actual ice. Although this has turned into a huge money making opportunity for the NHL and I bet it will be around for a few years. Now....if only they could get the ice outdoors in FL lol

good points about being there in person, but I think it would be cool to be able to say you attended and got to experience a hockey game at Fenway Park

Contrived or not I'll be watching

I'd rather be at Fenway in early October, watching a Red Sox game.

I'd rather play pond hockey than watch it, but there are some great local pond hockey tournaments later in the winter - closer to spring. We had a decent game on boxing day (Dec 26 in Canada) but I really need to get in better shape - I'm not as awesome as my selective memory recalls.

I'll be watching on TV. Haven't missed on yet. This year will be fun to watch Chris Pronger freeze his SoCal a$$ off.

Do you know where he's from? It's in balmy Western Ontario - 1/2 way between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg - it's basically the Canadian Riviera!

Im a fan of neither the Flyers nor the Bruins (Red Wings fan), but I wish I could be at the game. The simple fact that its an outdoor hockey game is cool and the fact that they are forecasting snow is going to make it an even more amazing skeptical.
I am going to be at the Camp Randall Classic in Madison, WI in February when the Wisconsin Badgers take on the Michigan though!

I'm not actually going, but I will most definitely be watching it on TV. Go B's! Sluggish start, but they're getting it going now.

And I think I speak for all New Englanders when I say that there couldn't be a better spot to host an awesome event than Fenway. I wonder if they'll sell Fenway Franks.

Canadian Riviera! Never heard Dryden called that before.

I can't wait til we get an outdoor game at McMahon in Calgary, I'll certainly go to that one, tho I'm skeptical that the NHL will let us have one before they've done a bunch of US cities. Talk radio around here is thinking it'll be in Las Vegas before Calgary.

Yeah, he is from there, but his house is in SoCal where he's lived for many years. Chris admitted that the first time he went back to Edmonton, after the trade to Anaheim, he froze. And that was in November.

I'll be going a week later to the bc/bu game at fenway. I'm quite skeptical that its going to be good but who knows.

    • True.  Scotty is not playing the field (so to speak), he’s happily married (best we can tell), and seems to have the personality to kind of ignore all the hoopla.  The strange thing with Scotty is it seems he can’t crack the code to have the love of the crowd - - he’s definitely cracked the code to winning everything in sight.  Albeit the bizarre situation where he got arrested, but remember how that all went down, the guy reached in and punched him in the face (I believe), and Scotty seemed to take it all very very low key.  Evidence?  Open your eyes, look at the results, look at the trends.  There’s 15 years of evidence! Phil total cowboy?  Hadn’t quite heard it put that way - I guess you’re talking about the gambling?  or the move to LIV?  In any case, a very different type of scenario for Phil.  I’d say that Phil optimized his talent and probably got as much out of his career he could.  If anything, Phil was not so great physically for quite a while, but he trimmed down and extended his career
    • You don't know that for a fact.  You can't even provide evidence that supports the factors you listed out.
    • Tiger buffing up hurt his career as well.  Tiger could have should have won 8-10 Masters and 100 tournaments.  He started the insane workout pump up buff out craziness whilst hanging out with the military guys, Rangers or Seals?  Hey that’s what he wanted to do, but it definitely hurt his career, especially right during his prime. Same thing with Rory.  He could have should have won several Masters by now. Both Tiger and Rory, they have incredible talent, and their talent helped them to be the best players of their generations.  I’m just saying they could’ve won even more if not for the factors I’ve listed out.
    • Phew... lol
    • Phil M was (is?) was a total cowboy in his day but served him well at the Masters it seems.
