My local Dickssportinggoods has them for $499 in store and if I need to return them its an easy 30 minutes drive.

I recently found carlsgolfland.com and they have them for $399! Never heard of the place so I don't know if its reliable as in legit x20's and not fakes and their isn't a Carls anywhere near where I live. But saving $100 is big now a days.

Any suggestions?

You'll do better on Ebay.

I worry about ebay though. I'd like to buy from a place that I know is legit and the clubs are new. Anyone know anything about Carls?

I think Carls is legit for sure. I called and spoke with them about ordering my wife's womens Big Bertha irons for Christmas. I got them at TGW as Carls didn't have left handed clubs in stock. But they seemed totally legit. I got my X20 Tours from Callaway Preowned in "like new" which is brand new there. Got my whole bag from that site in the last month. Awesome place to do business with. Mine were like $421 shipped. I also had them 1.25" over length and 2 degree upright with jumbo grips. That was 3-PW. Looks like some great deals you found as well. I would buy from Carl's without concern.

Avoid Callaways on Ebay, unless the seller has perfect feedback and lots of it. Even then, be cautious, there are so many fake Callaways on Ebay. I have heard of Carls, totally legit. Good choice on the X20's, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you can find the clubs on callaway used site do it as they stand behind the stuff like no other company around. The customer service they have is second to none. Most of the time if you have your exact specs they will bend or lenthen for you.

The Callaway used are actually more expensive than the new irons on Carl's. That's why I was wondering if its legit. How can they have them so cheap? Thanks for all the help guys, I'm leaning towards Carl's.

Carl's Golfland is totally legit... I used to live in Michigan and have done a ton of business with both of thier stores... do not hesitate. Actually, the irons in my sig are from Carl's, but I bought them in the actual store. Again... it is a great golf store... anytime I can support them over Big Box POS stores like Galaxy, Dick's, etc. I DO.

My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

X2. Carl's is great.

I would go Callaway Preowned, or try Golf Galaxy or Golf Discount it someone has traded a set in. I got a slightly used set this past spring for $400 at GG. Only the 3, 7 and 9 iron had much use.

    • Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

    • Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
