Am I misguided carrying a 3 iron?

This thread has inspired me to pick up a couple 1-irons.

I have to hit all my punch shots with a 3 or 4 hybrid or 5 iron ( as the 5 is lowest iron in my set.) I would like a 2 or 3 iron as well.
but have to many clubs already.

Go with whatever you're comfortable with.

I switched to Tour Edge hybrids in 2006 and haven't looked back since - their custom fitted and promote consistency and a high ball trajectory.

However, prior to 06, I had gone through a few sets of irons trying to find comfortable ones.. and the more expensive ones did not necessarily improve my game.

Best option - see if any friendly golf shops will let you try out the hybrids for a weekend.
