I would vote private membership. But anyway where are people finding $3k or $2.5k per year membership at private courses? That is really low, has to be a junior membership no? Here in NY-NJ private memberships are going to run you at least
$15-150k per year, not to mention intiall fees. I wish I could find a cc club in your prices ranges.

Yeah.. I can imagine it being very expensive in NY. I'm in the Philly area very close to Delaware so the prices start at 2.5K and thats just the initiation fee, for some reason they all are hurting for members. So now is the time to try to get in at a low cost. It probably cost alot for a round of golf in NY, I played the Beth Page Black Course last year and it cost my $120.

this is not exact but from i have been hearing the going rate for most typical clubs in the philly market is 7 to 15k initiation, 5 to 8 k in dues.

the dues have remained stable but the initiation is typically about half of what it was two years ago. of course the philly cc, philly cricket, aronimick and those types of places have kept the cost high...but they are in a different league.

I live in the Delaware County area, outside of Philly near Delaware and below are a couple of private courses that are interesting. They have this executive membership for the 25 - 35 age group which is around 2.5K - 3K. The club that really impress me is Dupont, it has three courses.

since i rarely take a cart when i play, i'd go with option 2. why not just buy a cart? i'm sure you can find a decent used one for around $500

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
