Hey out there,

I just wanted to get your opinions for your favorite courses in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert/La Quinta area. I'm about a 20 handicapper and have the opportunity to play 2 days there in mid-April, and I want to get in 36 holes each day. What would you guys recommend for value and scenery?

Obviously, I'd like to player the less expensive courses in the morning and then the more expensive in the PM for twilight rates. I've only played Desert Willow (Firecliff Course) there and really enjoyed it. Thanks for all your input.

I tend to play Palm Springs in the summer, so my view of prices is a bit skewed.

First, there are websites that offer discounts and reservations.

I really enjoyed Heritage Palms which, although a private course, was accessible via one such website. It's definitely within the range of a 20-handicapper

Tahquitz Creek - Resort Course is nice, too. The Legend course, not so much.

Cimmarron Hills - Boulder ("Pebble" is their executive course) was nice. It was the first nice course I played, long before I could break 100. I enjoyed just the same.

    • Day 1: 2/26/2025: So, I'm starting over on this again.  My son brought home the mother of all flu bugs from school. It raged though our house and knocked me on my butt for about 3 days.  Now, that I think I'm clear of the death plague my son gave me. I was able to rise early this morning and get some nice mirror work in. I felt stiff like a board for the first few swings, but loosened up and was able to get at least 20 minutes of first robotic slow swings and then gradually more fluid swings.  My focus was on the timing and fluidity of my priority pieces.
    • I use a MagSafe connector on my tripod. Occasionally I use those clips.
    • Working on some swing videos. What are you guys having the best luck with as far as devices used to record the swing?  I have a tripod with a magnet that I stick my phone on but it is somewhat of a pain because I have to remove the cover on my phone and when I pull it off the magnet the tripod head changes and moves position. I was thinking something more like an ipad maybe. On a different style tripod and maybe even set it up to mirror to a tv.
