just saw a billboard today for the dallas golf show. upon further inspection, the dates were jan 29-31. needless to say, i was a little disappointed. however, i wouldn't have bought anything anyways.

I doubt very serously if i will buy anything ether at the golf show.....so I'm wondering if it is worth even going.

I went to the Indinapolis IN Golf show last weekend, it was ok, Got some info on a few courses in other states i'd like to try. Found a good deal on some Taylormade gloves 3 for $18.00 , and the best part here was the Manufactors demo area, paid 5.00 for a small bucket of balls and got to try the r9 TP irons and love the feel, but most of all hit the Cobra ZL driver with the VooDoo shaft. I like the feel of that new driver allot

speaking of demo-ing clubs, i think i found demo heaven last year. outside of austin is the golfsmith world headquarters. we had some time to kill, so my girl and i decide to peruse the store. it was big, but it was rather unimpressive as i've been spoilt by the PGA superstore here in plano(dallas suburb). i asked to demo the new ping driver and the gentleman told me to go outside to the demo barn. holy $⁢, this place had every driver known to man, and just about every set of irons as well. best thing was, for each club you demo, you get a little ticket for 20 balls free. that's right, free!

I've never been to one. There is one in Boston March 5 - 7. Is it worth it if you've never been to one?

went to the one in Seattle last year, and it's coming up again Feb. 12-14.
i was pretty disappointed last year. basically you just walk around and look at crap and you can hit balls off of turf pads into nets 10 feet away from you. then guys try and persuade you into buying crap by assuming you don't know anything and using fancy words like "cavity back", "upright", "bounce" and "torque". big whoop.

that said, i'll probably go again if i'm bored

    • . I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years, 1 year consistently  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: inconsistent ball strike   I caught the bug about a year ago and have been playing roughly once a week. Have been getting better with my short game and putting but my ball striking from tee and fairway lets me down. Had my first lesson last month which identified an over the top swing compensated by an open club face. Have been trying everything to get on plane over the last month. Have found that using a bend and press into my left leg as the trigger for my downswing coupled with finding the turn and rotation in both my arms to release the club properly has helped my get nearer to the correct plane. Video below is where I am with it currently. Haven’t taken this new swing to the course yet! Any comments or suggestions are welcome  Videos:  I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year properly  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 av score
    • That's always been the deal. You put in the work hyper focused on ONE or at most two things, so that you don't have to think about anything except a single feel or the target or something on the course.
    • Blind squirrel finds a nut and putted well. no, I decided to play a round being athletic rather than paralyzing myself with swing thoughts. I have no clue if I was doing what I worked on. It was the last day and I was tired of freezing at the top of the swing not know if one of four outcomes were going to happen.
    • Day 299 - 2025-07-26 I spent 15 minutes practicing but it was almost pointless. It wasn't good practice. I was not really in it, but I put the time in. Oh, I did some chipping work before-hand, and that was good. I could have just left after that. 🙂
    • Well that's different.
