* Harness every emotion, you'll find a sense of calm when no shot has control over you.

* Being in position to win is almost as important as winning.

* Practice like you play- that way tournements will just be an extension of your regular rounds.

* Don't complain about anything

* Manage yourself: Setting up to make pars equals birdies.

* Don't blow off your bad round like it's nothing- you learn alot from your mistakes.

* Practice is not a habit, make your practices have meaning.

* Never give up, it is a quality of a champion.

* There are no shortcuts to success. Only hard work.

* You always see golfers practicing a swing after a bad shot trying to figure out what they did wrong... Why not practice your swing after a good shot and take careful notice of what you did right instead, so as to better repeat it.

* One shot does not have precedent over another, just because you hit some bad shots with certain clubs does not mean that you are cursed with it for the day. Have patience and keep hitting the ball.

* Don't pay attention to your oppenents, and definately do not comment un-neccessarily about their game.

* Do not "talk up" an oppenent, his past success has no precedent over the round you are about to play. It is whoever keeps their head together and plays their own game from start to finish who ends up winning the match.

* Finally, be glad you're playing. A bad attitude on the course is worse than anything.

Couldn't agree more. It took me a long time to realize that just being on the course instead of at work was well worth it. And it's a real downer to have someone in your group constantly complaining about their swing, their bad luck, their score, you name it. I think to myself "Gee, if it's that bad out here in the sunshine, go back to your cubicle".

For real, I truly realized what it means to just enjoy the round when I played in that 2 man scramble with Dad. He never gets to play anymore, but them two days we played He looked happier than he had been in years. I don't think he got upset about anything, I was glad to get to watch it. We nearly shocked Will and Wes that first day, they couldn't handle the 200 feet worth of putts Dad makes on a regular basis. Too bad me and him each have a double bogey or two in hiding waiting to strike at the oddest of times.
