Here's the scoop. I recently purchased a set of blades, had them bent to my lie angle, had shaft extentions added as well as regripping. We taped each club and hit 6-10 balls with each, and the lie adjustements were made accordingly. I asked what the lie/loft settings were for future reference. Std./std./+.75.
Ok here comes the interesting part. I was fitted last June (09') for new Pings. I was placed in a (maroon dot) 4.5*^/ std. loft/ +.50, so I say to myself that I need to get the Pings readjusted for my flatter swing. Well I catch a second, grab the Pings and go. We tape the soles on the SW, 9I ,6I, and I proceed to hit balls with each to get marks. WTH? They are correct.
How can I have two sets of clubs with two completely different lie adjustments (That far apart) that I swing and mark in center of the tape each time? I am totally confused, and perplexed by this. I want to take my Mizunos to my Ping guy to try this again and see if he gets the same result. I am just trying to conclude how they were able to come up with this result, and why is it working? Club fittin' guys any answers please!
Thank you all for any input!

I'll have a think bout the lie anngle, seems a strange one to me, but Mizunos are 1/4", longer than Pings. This would explain the difference.
I know this as I recently spoke to Mizuno to get their exact lengths.

Remember there is no "standard" in loft/lie and length of clubs...I mean a Mizuno standard is x/x/x while Titleist is y/y/y. So just get the true specs of each club and see how far off they are.

True, but place the clubs on a solid flat surface and allow only the center to touch, then the Ping is significantly more upright. Close to 2.25" in height from the tip of the grip to tip of the grip (PW).

What shafts do you have on them? The club bends slightly at impact, which is why it must be toe up at address. The bend will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. A Stiff shaft is not the same as a Stiff shaft from some other brand.

Different length also plays a role.

The Mizunos are DG 300s and the Pings are Ping AWT (S) flex. The only difference I can note is the Mizunos can take 10-15 more balls to warm up to, but most of those are mid-face hits.
