Wedge Play and WHY??

Why do I seem to hit my wedges so good. From 100 yds in I am all over the pin. I was looking at this yesterday in the yard and this is what I noticed. I didn't know I was doing this but I actually open up my stance a little and open the blade a little. maybe this is the way I've always done it but never thought about it before.

Why would I unconsciously change my stance? Doesn't Lee Trevino hit this way on all shots? I just don't get it. But it seems to work for me.

From my own experience, I know that I rarely hit a a wedge at 100% as I'm focussing more on direction and accuracy than power - perhaps this is why you get a better, more consistent strike with the shorter clubs?

I am not an expert, but according to many in this forum (Iacas is one of them) the pivot is essential for good ball striking. When you open your stance, you are presetting your hips to a good pivot position; more than likely, during you full swing you are not rotating your hips to this position, and this may be the cause for such an obvious difference.
I am not sure if I stated it properly, but for sure you will have a better explanation later for somebody who understands the pivot better than me.
