Now he is signing autographs and making nice. It's just an act Folks just an act.

I think you are right. In my opinion, I think the media is effectively extorting Tiger to open himself up to the public and, if he doesn't, then they simply will not forgive him for his past actions and continue to take him to task (therby undermining his marketing value going forward).

I personally think Tiger will get very frustrated and will eventually pull back to his old self -- ingoring the fans for the most part and keeping to himself. It's unfair really....but nobody ever said life was fair, and nobody is going to feel sorry for the guy.

This is what I got out of the post round interview on the back of the 18th. Do I think Tiger possibly wants to do at least a little bit, yeah. But from even just how the interviewer was asking his questions, and how he at the end was hammering the "work in progress" line. I guess I might be one of the few who didn't exactly expect his temper to disapear instantly and forever? :P I think I'd agree that he might kind of shy back a little bit, but what would prove more of a point possibly is to still open up to fans, be more arnie-like, but blow off the media since as you said minds are made up anyway :P

Certainly one of the best Masters in my memory. No one really choked and gave it away, Phil earned it with sometimes steady pars and other times unworldly eagles and birdies. Westwood impressed everyone, and Choi was workman like and steady as a rock. KJ's pulled approach on 13 changed the tournament almost as much as Phil's play on 12 through 15, One has to wonder if he had cut the shot in and had an eagle putt if he might have gone on to win it. Tiger was struggling and a bit out of control with his swing at times. Couples (what would he have done if he could putt really well) was an inspiration and Watson was impressive as always. AK got hot and added a lot of excitement at the end. It was a great tournament and a nice win for Phil and his family.

The course was set up a bit differently, with many accessible pin locations, longer grass on the fringes to stop balls from rolling in the water, and I don't think the greens ever got to 13 on the stimp (but I don't know that.) That seemed to combine with exceptional shot-making to return the roars to Augusta... and that is what this tournament has always been so very well know for. I was happy to see holes set up shorter and longer for variety and that the tournament did not seem to mind a 16 under par winning score.

This will go down as one of my favorites.

That is the best thing I've ever seen.
A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

    • God I hate when golf can’t give me n+1 day of success. Drives me up the wall when my body is, FU! Im like, ok let’s check the vid. Yep too much turn, arms getting behind me. Ok, I work on that. Get the feel back for a shorter swing. Confirm with video. Then going back to arms down stuff.  Arms down, nope it’s hands out towards the ball. Oh, you get arms down better. Guess what, you don’t get to rotate and you hit 6 inches behind the ball. Yay!  Maybe I should have walked off the range and not wasted my time. I wish there was a body alert system when it’s going to a SOB for the day. 😭 OK rant over, I’ll be back at this tomorrow.

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.
    • Two bits. Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
