Anyone demo these new conforming wedges? I demoed the regular spin milled as i have never played one before and i was sooooo happy with how far i could throw the ball to the hole and it still be a kick in. Do you think that the cc grooves (less spin) will still have most of that amazing vokey spin?

the spin off the fairway will pretty much be the same since and fresh grooves will spin. the spin milled also have a type of sandblasted face to allow more spin. it will really only be affected coming out of the rough, where the grass will get into the way of the grooves.

I don't plan on even thinking about putting the CC wedges into play for a long time. The old grooves are fine for anyone except tour players until what, 2024 or something (if the rule ever changes?). I'll be keeping my square grooves.

To answer your question (as the other poster said) from the fairway you shouldn't notice much difference.

don't bother with the C-C grooves right now, stick with the old grooves.

I put a 54 and a 60 in the bag about weeks ago. Not much change in spin from the fairway, maybe a bit more because my old ones were about worn out. I've only been in the rough twice using the 54, and got a flyer both times.

I use a set of them now for tournaments, only real difference is hitting out of the rough, you'll get a little less spin as the grooves will not bite as much, and a lot less balls spinning off the greens too, nothing worse than a well struck ball that lands 3 feet from the hole and then watching it spin 10 feet away or off the green

1. I can't seem to find one at the local Golfsmith

2. Is the golf shaft option on the cc only a s300? it seems to only be available that way online

3. Is the spin milled log on the face of the club a different color?

Is anyone seeing any difference with the CC wedges in terms of shredding golf ball covers?  I have an issue with this using the old Spin Mills and Pro V1 X.
