I tend to pick my head up a little too quickly when I putt and watch the ball instead of keeping my head down long enough to get the ball started on the correct line. When I can force myself to keep my head down long enough all my putts start on line and are hit much more solid.

Anyone have any good tips/drills or training aids to help accomplish this?

As Lee Travino would say, "KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN"

Its not a matter of drills or tips, just KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN, its psycological. Here is my tip, does it matter if you look at the ball. Your still over the putt, you did your routine, your going to use this one putting stroke to hit the ball, after that you can't take it back. So why care were it goes, just hit the putt.

But if you must, practice 4-5 foot putts, were the hole is in your perifferal vision. Then practice putts with out moving your head up to look. Either wait for to hear the putt drain or notice the ball go into or past the hole in your side vision. Then look up. Or you can pratice long putts and don't move your head until the ball leaves your side vision.

My father has a slightly less fun approach. Just tie a string from your head (hat, wherever you can put it) to your... um, junk. Lift your head, and ouch. If you are in public, I suggest merely tying the other end to your belt. Either way, it works pretty well.

HAHA, that works...

I just putt a whole bunch of 3-4 footers and not lift my head until I hear the ball drop in the cup. I only use one ball so it's more like on the course when you have to eventually look up to go pick up your ball. It's just a matter of keeping disciplined and eventually it becomes a habit.
