Putter shaft offset

So whats the feel difference with the different offsets in putters? From a full shaft, 1/2 shaft or no offset? I have only hit full shaft offsets so I am not too familiar with the others.

Its really just preference, when choosing a putter just make sure it lies flat on the ground during your swing, I see enough odysee 2 ball putters set up almost 45* upright it makes me want to puke...

I have a Scotty Circa 62 # 3 right now, and my toe is higher than I want it to be. I was trying out the California Scotty's and I love the weight to them. But, I noticed that the Del Mar sat flatter for me than the Monterey, but the Del Mar doesn't have much shaft offset, and I have never played with one like that. But, man did it feel good!

I've been hitting the Adams A7 putters at the golf shop lately, and I'm trying to figure out the difference too. I'm not sure if I want or don't want offset; the models I'm looking at (60,61,65) come in full, half, and 3/4 shaft offset.

I don't know if it is true or not....but I've heard from multiple people that if you have a forward press putting setup/stroke, you want an off set putter. This will help you to square the face to the ball.

Then again..... Phil Mickelson has as much forward press as I've ever seen and he uses a putter with no offset. But I think he's the exception. If you think about it, by forward pressing you are de-lofting the putter face - which I would imagine doesn't let you put the best roll on the ball.
