The longer I play golf, the slower my backswing and transition at the top. A couple years back, I used to swing harder and have a very fast backswing. My shots are mostly fade and sometimes a slice.
Now, it's a draw and on fault swing, a hook.

Is it true the slower your backswing and transition, the faster your downswing will be ? (means more club head speed)

Welld epends, slower backswing will usually lead to more extension with the hands and creates a bigger swing arc, increase clubhead speed. But there is not relationship between a slow to fast or fast to fast. If your able to bring the club back fast and swing just as fast into the ball, thats as far as it go, club head speed is club head speed.

Personally i bring the club back at a decent pace, if i take it back slow i usually end up with my hips out racing my whole body.

I believe a slow backswing and transition from the top will make you a consistent ball striker. The slow backswing will help you complete your backswing and especially the slow transition will help your tempo and golf swing, because you will not redirect the club on the down swing.

Have you also used this slow transition on your putting stroke especially the slow transition from back stroke to forward stroke. That slow transition will help prevent pull putts in pressure situations.

Along with the slow tempo backswing do you have a consistent pre-shot and pre-putt routine?

Well what is the definition of slow. I can only say what is slow, is slower compared to what i do. To me what i do is moderate paced, but it might be quick compared to someone else. I know i am not Els slow, but i know i am not Nick Price tempo. If i had to say i might be closer to Harrington tempo, but i have to check out his swing again.
