Just got back from my golf trip to Pebble. Made a hole in one at Pasatiempo #8. Also played Pebble, Spy Glass, Spanish Bay, Poppy Hills, and Corde Valle. That part of the earth sure is beautiful. Pebble was the best walk of my life. Weather was perfect after the first day and the courses were all in excellent condition. Didn't score well but it didn't matter......awesome trip! Best part is the bar was closed at Pasatiempo when we finished so I only had to buy the 7 others with me drinks :)

Man, I envy you. That's my dream trip. I'll do it one day... I could die a happy, happy man if I got to play Pebble and Spy Glass on back-to-back days. Congrats on the ace at Pasatiempo!

Man, your trip must have been fantastic! One day I have to do something similar.

I'm trying to schedule a golf getaway with my buddies and I'm having nightmares trying to coordinate everything (flight, hotels, car rental, tee times, etc). We want to try many different courses and limit long car rides between hotel and courses. Not sure where yet. So many places I want to see! So many sites to check out!!! This is the first we (I) organize it, I think I'll let others do it next time.

How did you organize yours? Through a travel agent or by yourself? I ate the idea of paying someone for something I can do myself. I'd rather spent to money on the trip itself.

I wish all the information was available on one website.

I am crying with jealousy, 65!

Believe most us are familiar with Pebble, Spyglass, Poppy Hills, and SB. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Pasatiempo... Removing any bias resulting from your ace (congrats!), what did you think? I've seen photos before and after Tom Doak's remodeling, and it looks astounding. The resurrection of the Mackenzie bunker style may be the best course architecture development of the past 30 years.

Best,
Sean

It was all done by one of the guys on the trip. I don't think this one was super difficult to plan because we stayed at the resort for all but one of the courses. The one thing we all wished would have been planned better is the moving to 3 different rooms during the 4 nights. Packing and unpacking wasn't much fun. Didn't have much of a choice since the rooms at the Lodge at Pebble were $800 a night......we limited our stay there as much as possible. I have planned a trip to Harbour town for 8 and it really wasn't bad. I think as long as you stick to golf resorts, at least on your first few trips, you will find it fairly easy.

I loved all the courses less Spanish Bay, which was beautiful and in excellent condition, just not a fan of tricked out circus golf. Pasatiempo was fairly open. It had a few really great golf holes. #10 was playing directly into the wind and I think it was somewhere around 480yd. par 4. My rank on golf layout only, not the views.

1. Spyglass 2. Pebble 3. Corde Valle 4. Poppy Hills 5. Pasatiempo 6. Spanish Bay I loved 1-5 and could play them over and over. I must say there is not walk like Pebble. It is almost hard to describe the beauty if that part of the earth. Especially if your from South Texas. I couldn't take enough pics or get the smile off my face. The tv just can't do that place justice and I would say green fee is worth the experience :) Not one of the 8 left dissapointed.

Thanks for the input. Going to California might be a little out of our budget for this year but I hope the day will come when get to go there.

Cheers!
