I was given a new Callaway FT-iz Tour in 9.5deg with the Voodoo shaft. My SS is 108-112 here lately. Anyway, it looks awful strange at address compared to my more conventional Adams Redline. I have had the Redline for 10yrs since I hit it so well, but I may have found a replacement. The first thing I noticed is how light the club is...I changed to the new Winn mid-size grip that is supposed to be lighter. Anyway, the ball really explodes off of the face of this club. I did have a case of the lefts with it at first but it was more of a swing issue than the club. When I straightened it out, I hit 3 consecutive shots of 316, 321 and 322yds. The trajectory was a high draw that did roll out about 15-20yds (I could see where it hit in the fairway and where it ended up). Overall, I am very excited with the potential of this club. I did notice that it was easy to overpower with how light it is, but this should be an easy fix when I get it to the range. I hit this club MUCH better and further than the FT-9 Tour with the same shaft. The sound was different than the FT-9 as well. More high pitched than the dull thud of the FT-9. It really lets you know when you hit it dead center...I like the sound. If you are in the market for a new driver, and have a swing speed above 100, I would give this one a try. (My friend who swing around 90mph didnt hit it so well). I think this one is a keeper.

Nope. I still hit my Redline further than this one...time will tell if my consistency is better with it. Whats the deal with the Edge?

Oh I demo'd it the other day. I also demo'd it again today with the ping g15. They both hit the ball the same to me but the g15 has more of a traditional look at address especially with the hosel.

I have hit the G10 and G15 with the stock shafts and didnt like them. With a shaft fitted for my swing, they would probably be much better. I have never hit a Cleveland driver though.

I hit the cleveland DST and DST tour at a demo a few months back at and expo. They were very solid feeling, I'd love to hit them again on a launch monitor.

I have been wanting to try this head, but I haven't been able to find a tour model up here yet and the store here said they didn't make a tour model. Are you going to try and add some weight to the head? I have troubles with control with my FT-9 because the head is a bit too lite.

Don't know about the FT-iz, but I can tell you one thing: I hate the FT-i and the FT-iQ. Worst drivers in the market imo. They sound bad, they look bad, and they just don't work for me a bit.
I am not a big fan of Callaway drivers generally speaking.

I may need to weight to the head if I keep on overswinging it and yanking it left. If I focus on getting my hips going I hit it straight with a slight draw. Mine is a Tour model so they do make it.

I just tried the FTiZ at a demo day at my club and loved it. My SS is 95 to 105 but the Callaway rep said the Voodoo shaft would be fine for me. I don't hit it all that far, I'm 53 and I carried it 250 with the rage balls....so if I can end up hitting it (with a little roll out) around 270 I would be very happy.

have you tried the diablo edge?

I tried the edge at the demo day at my club, and I liked the FTiZ much better.
