I've demoed a bunch of wedges and finally decided on the Vokey Spin Milled. I took one out today and you know it's a great wedge when you look at the club face after a shot and see little pieces of ball cover in the grooves. My questions are:

1. I played the 60-07 but didn't see any flex ratings on the shaft. Do they just use one flex?
2. I want as much bite as possible for my 60*. Is there a difference between the chrome and non-chrome models?
3. What the hell is spin milled?

Thanks,

BC

I don't believe there is a difference in the chrome and non-chrom finishes in terms of spin. Go to Titleist.com or Google "Vokey wedges" and go to vokeys actual website. It has a whole glossary on there of terms that are wedge related. You can find it all there.

Hmm I can answer 2 of your questions.
Spin Milled is when the face of the wedge is CNC milled which means a machine cut micro groves and lines across the face to help increase the spin rate but at a price of eating golf ball covers. The chrome and non crome models are the same except one has less glare then the other. chrome can get a bit shinny. If you are looking for a bit more spin choose the oil can version it will rust and add a nice patina with increased spin.

Not true.

Spin milling is the way the grooves are cut with a router-like machine. The tiny lines across the face do not eat ball covers. The grooves do. The olil can Vokey will NOT add spin. It is a myth that rust and "patina" increase spin.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I like my oil can because of the color :) I can reach for my brown club (wedge) and/or my gold club (putter) without thinking. Thats right, I'm lazy. Hey there's an idea... rainbow colored irons!

Cool. That's the info I'm looking for.

1. If you have the standard shaft, it's a True Temper S200
2. The different finished will have the same spin
3. Spin milled are grooves that are cut very aggressively to create maximum spin.
Make sure you get the 09 version with the red paintfill if you want maximum spin as the new version (with the golf paintfill) is the CC version with the 2010 PGA Tour grooves.

Not true.

Spin milling is the textured face and has nothing to do with the grooves, spin milling allows the golfer to apply more friction to the ball during use, allowing the golfer to put more spin on the ball and have greater control of the ball, anything that grips the ball including the grooves and spin milled face will in fact eat ball covers

You're wrong, and we've had this discussion several times before, so we won't entertain it again.
