Everybody might already know this and this may have been an earlier thread, but if you're going to Gulf Shores, if you book your condo with Gulfshoresrentals.com you get a free round of golf everyday from a couple different courses. You might get a sea breeze full of oil right now, but hey, its free!

Thanks for the tip, Jared. I suspect they're trying to lure as many folks to Gulf Shores ASAP, before the oil changes everything. Is Gulf Shores expected to get inundated?

Tragic to see what's already happening in Louisiana and Miss.

I believe about all of the gulf coast is "in danger." I hope they can get that mess cleaned up soon!

Looking worse by the day, Jared. I shudder to think how big this disaster could end up being when all's said and done. Could dwarf anything that's come before it.

Hope I'm wrong.

Competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch course... the space between your ears.

Im not sure if it's considered Gulf Shores, but there is a stellar golf course down that way called Kiva Dunes. If you're down there an it's included, I would definately suggest playing there. The first time I went, I met Valeria from Big Break III. Im not sure if she's still teaching there, but it's a good bonus to see her in person if you know what I mean

Some scientists are suggesting that the oil could get caught up in strong currents that run around the cost of FL. One even said that if enough oil made it in the current it would be working its way around the keys and up to the coast of Georgia/SC in 3 weeks time.

Scratch that.... as Eric pointed out on a different thread, I must have met Valeria at Bonaventure in Ft Lauderdale. Even so, Kiva Dunes is an awesome course.

I really hope the slick doesn't get back into this current that goes around Florida and the Keys.... it could be even more devastating to the wildlife.

I was down there in October and two courses include were Soldier's Creek(18 holes) and Glenn Lakes(27 holes). I really enjoyed Soldier's Creek because it was further out of the city and better scenery. Glenn Lakes was right in a neighborhood and I'm just not a fan of worrying about taking somebody's window out.

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
