Ballposition Hybrids

A hybrid is something new in my game since I took up golf after leaving it for about 15 yrs.

I am a Titleist guy .... so I went out and bought a 24° 909 H to replace a 3i .... as I was told a 24° would have the about same distance as a 21° 3i with a higher trajectory ...... my experience was I hit it similar to a 24° iron, so I exchanged it for a 21° 909 H and now it is like an easy to hit 3i.

But soon I kind of experienced that it was possible to use the Hybrid in two ways, played from the middle of the stance as I would normally use with a 7i or a little further forward as with a 5W. The ball flight higher/shorter from the middle or lower/longer and also ending a little left on the for the more forward ball position.

I don't need this variation .... just want about 200 yds with the 21° H and about 220 yds with the 17° H I recently added .... my fullswing average 4i is about 180 yds.

What ball position would be right to get consistent results from the Hybrids ?

Put the ball in the same place as you do with your longer irons, make sure you hit down on the ball. Ball position can be moved if you want to change trajectory or flight path.

I place them the same as I used to with my longer irons, and I choke down just a little, gives me the best results, and the same/more distance with better ball flight.
