I was there at 0645 this AM. After watching some at the range, I followed the Daly trio for the whole 18 holes. Rocco stopped to chat with me before the match. Nice guy, and seemed genuine. Got an autograph too :) Daly was in the trees 4 times, lost one ball and took a drop. Mark Brooks (local Texas boy) was playing a heck of a short game and was -2 at one point. He slipped up some on the back none to finish even.
Beautiful course, only to get better in the coming year. Outlying areas still need some work, but the fairways and greens looked awesome. Going back Sunday....weather permitting.

Cool deal, Rocco is a super nice guy, I always enjoy seeing him, and I feel bad for Daly, 2 time major winner playing like that is just hard to watch, because I know and I'm sure he knows that he can play much better, I think it's more from the weight loss and him not changing his swing to match that loss

As far as the course goes, it looks great on TV, and I love the 16th with the sand trap smack dab in the middle of the green, that's awesome and Zach +9 WTF ?????, ah well maybe he'll pull it off tomorrow and make the cut since the field isn't doing much better

Daly shot even par in a practice round, so maybe he was just having a bad day. But he'll have to shoot -12 today to make the cut. Doubtful.

It's raining hard at my house now, @ 6:00AM. I think I'll stay home today and watch whatever action there is on the TV/computer.

James Nitties , I know we haven't heard that name in a while, none the less he's tied for the lead at 7 under and weather permitting we'll see 36 holes tomorrow and crown a VTO champion

After an opening bogey today, he's made four birdies and no follow-up bogeys. He just birdied 14.

      Day 7: got out my chipping net and worked on chipping in the living room for a solid 15 minutes. Worked on mostly low shots, but mixed in a couple of high shots as well.

      Day 27 (4 Apr 26) - Worked with grandson on basic pitches/punches in the back yard with varied irons/wedges.  Wrapped up the day rolling some putts on the 30’ carpet I can set up in the yard to give varied terrain - and this carpet rolls almost too easy. A great way to figure a read and know that pace has to be near perfect to get in the hole.

      A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.
