For me it's got to be Maggert's. So simple and balanced. Great use of his right elbow, effortless.

my swing looks a lot like tiger's. just not nearly as much power :D

I couldn't copy that monster shoulder turn if you held a gun to my head.

I really like David Tom's swing.

The Big Easy, Ernie Els. That's who I try to emulate.

I have read and strongly believe one should only emulate a pro swing if you have the same body type (height, weight) and grip type.

I've got to go with Fred Couples... When I am swinging my best, that is what I visualize my swing looks like. In reality, it probably looks like a cat caught in flypaper, but in my mind, I look goooodddd...

I think I'll go with Ben Hogan, but with maybe a touch more of forward shoulder action. Els' swing is a smooth, powerful swing that I also admire.

For some reason, I always come back to Tom Watson. It's not someone you think of immediately, but the guy has such a repeatable swing. Very little spine movement through the swing. It looks like someone drilled a stake through the top of his head and it came out his rear end and into the ground...and he just swings around it.

I think I like to emulate him because a lot of my problems related to not swinging around the spine.

Another guy people should look at more, even though he's sort of fell off the radar, is Steve Elkington. In his prime, that swing was perfect.

To those of you that said Couples, I wish you luck. You might as well try and copy Furyk's swing.

Fairways and Greens.

Adam Scott, to me he has by far the most technically sound swing in the game...

I would love to have Luke Donald's swing. It NEVER breaks plane, or seems hurried. If I were 8'6" like Els, I'd want his swing.

Freddie would be a nightmare to copy technically but his tempo is butter. There are few swings that look as fluid and easy as Couples. His transition looks so effortless.

I'd love to have Stewart Appleby's swing. I think it's probably the simplest one on tour. But of course I'm not nearly as strong or flexible as Stewie so it probably wouldn't work for me. But you know if you're talking about a pretty swing, I think that Michelle Wie's is about as good as it gets. Wish I could swing like that. All I lack is the flexibility, timing, and hand-eye coordination. Plus she get a heck of lot of power from her legs that I'll never have.

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
