While at a local golf shop a Nike rep stopped by to show the owners the new upcoming woods. They are the new SQ's and they look quite different than the current one's. The "band" is pushed back even more and the face and top line are very square looking keeping the same 460cc. The sole is a little different and the shaft is now black and yellow. They also made the headcover much easier to put it on and take it off. Sorry no pictures.

He said will not be out until Feb 07 so you'll have to wait for a while. I don't know if there has been any buzz about this yet but I figured I would let you all know. It was kinda cool seeing in person a prototype for the next version. He also mentioned that the new irons (not sure which version) would be out in Nov. I think.

In My Bag:

Driver: Nike SQ tour 10.5° (Aldila NV 65S)
FW Woods: 4+ Cobra SZ, Stiff, 5 wood: Orlimar HipSteel 16°, Callaway X 21°, Stiff
Irons: Titleist DCI 822OS Nppon NS Pro950Wedges: Cleveland 900 54°/CG 10 60°Putter: Rife 2 bar offset blade putterBall: Callaway HX Tour primary but...

And I thought it wasn't possible for driver design to get any worse than the SQ... The current SQ imo is livable, mainly b/c of it's performance but I can say with confidence, regardless of how that performs, that shape will never fit my eye and I'll never own one.

Driver: Dual Point 9*
Woods: Dual Point 3-wood, T-40 5-wood
Irons: r7 TP's
Wedges: RAC TP Black 52/56/60
Putter: White Steel

Yeah, I like the current version (I just got the tour version) but man! I believe in the saying function over form but this is a bit ridiculous.

It's innovative...

I find it funny that a lot of people didn't like how the current version of the 'quatch looked. And now this.

It's definatly quatched...

Anyway, I look forward to trying it out, as I'm not a traditionalist so who knows how I'll feel about it. But I hit an early 500 series TaylorMade that isn't fitted... so I think I'll be happy enough with one of this year's models.

WOw whayt is Nike thinking... that is the ugliest club i have EVER SEEN OMG HAHAHA it looks so funny hahaha.....

That thing is uglier than a sock full of monkey turds.

That being said, if Tiger makes the switch, you'll see that mushroom stamp of a golf club in people's bags next year.

Yuck!

That has to be one of the ugliest clubs I have ever seen.

Gonna have to remember that saying.

Who are they targeting this towards???!!!

Anyone that has been playing for a while will have a hard time going from a pear to a square!

No doubt they'll bring Barkley back on TV to sell these - I don't see Tiger doing it.

If the sasqatch works well, thats great. But when I first saw it and heard that it was named Sasquatch. I kind of thought it was a joke. In fact I was sort of hoping it was a joke. Wheres the name come from? andy why the obnocious yellow?

I've never hit one, so maybe if i did, and loved how it felt, i'd care less about the silly name and look.

I'm terrible, but i have fun.

Hmmmm looks like Eric deleted his post with the pictures for some reason. Maybe he isn't allowed to post them, I don't know. I have them but will not post them unless Eric says it is ok.

I said they were for a limited time only. And I actually jumped the gun a bit. I was supposed to wait until next week.

If you are wondering what irons he was talking about, they are called CCi's.

These irons were designed for mid to low handicappers.

I have demoed these irons and they were great, I would recommend anyone to try them.

    • LIV golf was pretty close to me in 2023, at the same course that hosted the 2023 Senior PGA.  I didn't go to either one.  I do know a few people who went to the LIV event, and they said it was pretty well attended and pretty well run.  If I had free tickets, I might show up, but I'd probably have to drive 10 miles to park to get a shuttle to come back to within 5 miles of my house.
    • As long as "in town" means a drive of less than an hour, I'd probably go.  I've never actually been to a pro golf event, so it would be a novelty. Presumably, they'd be playing on a course that I'm not normally allowed to visit, so there would be an interest in just going to see the place. My tolerance for traffic is pretty minimal, so if massive headaches are predicted it would dampen my enthusiasm.
    • I would definitely buy tickets and go watch a round or two.
