And so it happens again .

Wie knew her place as a guest of the tour, and was nothing but gracious regarding the crowds. But her playing partner, Nick Dougherty, ripped into them (deservedly so, from how it sounds).

that is a little strange (camera phones). All the PGA tour events i have been to one practically gets strip searched to for phones, pda's, beepers. I even saw a doctor on call not be able to bring his beeper into the tournement grounds. I guess the European Tour doesn't police the crowds like the PGA.

Same thing happened at the British Open on Sunday -- both Tiger and Sergio had to back off several times because of camera phone "clicks."

...it's gotta be tough when a little girl behaves better than beats you in a round of golf..
As you would expect of a guest, Wie was not about to complain about a crowd which supported her till the end. Dougherty, though, labelled them "the worst I've witnessed anywhere in the world". This was no reaction to his poor play, because his game was at rock bottom long before he arrived in Crans. "I had thought that if Michelle beat me on one of the two days, she should have been happy. But my mum wouldn't have been happy at beating me today," he said. "I've missed nine cuts in a row and I can't do it at the moment. I don't recognise my own golf … I need a break." His main complaint about the spectators was that every second person seemed to be carrying a phone-come-camera, which was switched on rather than off. Again, he was appalled at the way they would walk to the next tee without waiting for the men to putt out. "It would be nice," Dougherty said, "if they had shown a little more respect to the men. After all, it is the men's tour."

Beyond that it is amazing that people do not to learn their phones features. I asked a friend who lives half time in London and they confirmed that their camera phones can be set to take pictures without a click or flash just like most of the phones here. There may be some really low end or old phones you can't do this on, but for every one else?

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
