Hey guys. I'm looking for a 47 or 48 degree wedge to fit between my 43 and 53 degrees. Does anyone have any experience with/opinions on the new Ping Tour-W wedges? thanks in advance

Do you honestly find that much of a gap between the two clubs?

My PW is 45 and my SW is 54 and I only notice a 10 yard distance gap.

Ping Tour W is 47* and up, So you'll have to bend it one degree weak to make it a 48* , Best wedges ever IMO

I do, 9 degrees is a huge gap to me because I like to swing smooth and easy with wedges, 45* 50* 54* 60* my best friends from 115 and in

Yes I do, hence why I am looking for a gap wedge. At this point my next wedge after my 43 degree pitching wedge is my 53 degree sand wedge. I constantly find myself on holes where I have to half swing with my pitching wedge (43 degree) because I can not get enough out of my 53 degree to get it to the green. I would love to have a nice gap wedge in between where I can just step up and make a nice smooth swing and hit these tweener greens consistently.

Some juniors here play the Tour W wedges without a particular reason. I tried them but they felt very harsh and I struggled to get any spin with them. The club also felt weird in my hands and I hated the grip so I have no reason to buy a club that I have to regrip right away. I play Vokeys because they feel very soft to me and the spin is incredible.
Just to prove my point, I had a chance to hit my friend's Vokey CC Spin Milled (tour 2010 grooves) and found that the ball would spin more with those than with the Tour W wedges.

Now I'm not encouraging you to buy Vokeys instead but I need to try them to see if you like them.

    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
    • Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
    • Day 13 - 2026-01-02 One hour short game work. Chipping balls to different targets, compass putting drill with 2-3% slope.
