Ok, I've been playing about 5 months total, 3 last summer, 1.5 months of what nice weather I've had up here in the Northwest. Here are a few of my swings, I can go from hitting straight and far to, hitting 3 feet in front of me rather quickly. I'd just like to get a few tips on becoming more consistant. Thanks!

There is a lot of movement with your body back and forth during the golf swing. In order to hit the ball more consistently, try minimizing how much your upper body and head move backward during the golf swing.

For someone just starting out, you have a good backswing plane. There are certainly some other things to work on, but I think you'll get the better results fastest by first working on minimizing your upper body swaying.

your right leg is definitely too straight. you should be in an athletic position over the ball. you're also jerking up right before impact, stay down and swing through the ball.

You actually have a ncie looking swing....but as said above, you sort of pull up through contact. Do you feel cramped up by the ball? If so, stand back a bit and swing more freely.

Watch the bad driver DTL shot, and notice your head pull up through impact, resulting in your arms doing the same, and you topping/pulling the shot

Looks to me like you are releasing the club pretty early -- its not the easiest thing to do, but you need to work on drills that help maintain more lag in your swing -- to me, it looks a little bit like you are consciously trying to release the club into contact with the ball -- the actual rolling of the wrists should take place well after contact.

Also, as many above have stated, the lateral movement backwards will make it very difficult to be consistent. Good luck

    • Just want to share a quick update with everyone. I went to the range the week before last, even though I took it easy no significant pain occurred just a slight twinge when I swung my #4 hybrid. The most encouraging news was no soreness the next morning. However I think switching back to graphite shafts is definitely gonna happen, my mp15's were fitted with X shafts and having something lighter will help.
