what do you pack in your sunday bag

I can't seem to leave any clubs behind. I usually play a par 3 9 hole. The holes, depending on pin placement and where the brown markers get placed, range from about 90 to about 150. I don't hit the longest so I usually go for a club or two longer than most would pick.

There are 2 par 4 holes on it so a driver is nice twice but I can also use a 5W. Even then the 5W doesn't come out of the bag except on those 2 holes. Wedges, 9-8-7 get use and sometimes the 5i. I did find myself wanting to try a 4 or 3i.

I like the comfort of having all 14 of my closest friends with me even if most don't come out. I may hae to give up on this Sunday bag idea. Seems to defeat the purpose if the Sunday bag has 14 clubs in it. Besides, I do like my OGIO EDGE bag and two wheeled cart.

Anytime I golf, I carry all clubs listed in my signature. Whether I need it or not, they're all "nice to have"

Currently at 12 clubs right now because I took the 5wood out. Currently perfectly content with what is in my bag.

I have this fantasy about having only 5-7 clubs in my Sunday bag to play the par 3 9 hole course. I have yet to make it out onto the course with that few. I may use that few but I haven't managed to leave many friends behind.

Im not sure what this thread is actully saying? Are we talking par 3 course's????

If it's a par 3 course, i don';t usually play them but....... I usually carry a 54 Wedge and a putter. I can hit the 54 wedge around 135 and I can also deloft the club and hit it low and get it around 150, but I have to de loft it though impact. So I don;t need much else. Usually end up a few under.

For a par 3? 9i (Or SW if I feel good) and my putter, balls and tees in my pockets. I never carry a bag to just a par 3 course.

same. I never take any clubs out. All 14 stay in all the time. If playing a par 3, of course I don't use some of them (driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and sometime hybrid), but I don't take them out. I would just feel weird without all my clubs with me.

I would love to only take a few high lofted clubs and my putter, but I'm not good at strengthening and weaking the loft, so even when playing par 3s, I end up using most of my irons.

its not as hard as you think. if enough delofting and a steep enough angle of attack alot of low handycappers can do it. its not a normal swing or as accurate but its definitely doable

Start by taking out the driver, and every other iron. You'll be at 8 clubs max easy. I played an executive a couple weeks ago with 5 wood, 7 iron, GW, and putter. I had to hit a few 60-80% swings, but I managed 4 over par. I think if you approach it as a challenge you'll find it to be fun rather than frustrating to head out with half your normal arsenal.
