Just thought I'd share something that was taught to me recently that has made a HUGE difference in smoothing my swing tempo. To keep from overswinging, a friend of mine told me to ALWAYS wear leather soled STREET SHOES whenever warming up on the range.

What a difference! Try it...I garantee if you swing too hard or too fast you'll almost fall on your butt! I actually played 9 holes once wearing street shoes and noticed a world of difference in both my contact with the ball AND in accuracy.

Not that I'm giving up the spikes, but as a traing aid it works!!!

''leather soled street shoes'' huh? do you mean like casual loafers, or something? anywho, a guy who i played a few rounds with last year who played D1 college golf played/practiced exclusively in sandals. the only time he put on spikes was during tournaments.

gotta be careful doing that. you can injure your ankles doing that. I know a guy who used to go straight to the range after work and he'd wear leather soled dress shoes to golf. One day, his foot placement slipped and he rolled his ankle pretty bad.
