I'm thinking about getting a set of these and wondered if any of you were playing them and what you think? I have to make my decision pretty quick or I'll lose out on a deal. Decisions decisions!!!

http://www.callawaygolf.com/Global/e...Irons(09).html

I checked them out...they look Ping S57 like. Checked the Maltby rating. Checked them out in person. I couldn't hit them because finding a lefty set to demo in greater Cleveland just ain't gonna happen. I'm looking for an iron that offers what these offer (little lower launch, some forged/blade qualities but a cavity design, thinner topline, more attractive at address than GI clubs, less offset than my current set, softer than my current set etc.) and am doing my homework. Figured I'd go to TST for some feedback.

Let me know ASAP, and I'll let you know if I end up pulling the trigger on these!

I dont play them, but a friend of mine bought these about a month ago and he loves them. I have hit a couple of his and they do feel great. They have Project X Rifle flighted shafts in them and the ball flight is mid to mid/high. He says they are the best irons he has ever played.

I absolutely love them. I've been playing mine for a couple months and they are amazingggg. They have the advantages of a player's club, look of a player's club, but are forgiving. I wasn't QUITE sold on the project x flighted shafts. its weird seeing a 4 iron go as high as it does but after you get adjusted to the ball trajectory, they're great shafts. A bit stiffer than the S300 which was a big plus for me. I say pull the trigger.

One of my playing partners is a 9 HC and he plays these and loves them, hits the ball very well and much lower than he did with his Pings

Went ahead and pulled the trigger. I got an insanely good price. I suspect that Callaway is either discontinuing these or getting ready to come out with a 2010 version, because they're on sale everywhere.

He said in his original post that he is a lefty and can't find any demos in his area.

Where did you find such a great deal for these? I am not seeing them discounted anywhere.

I'm a lefty too and the worst part about it is being able to test out new clubs. It's very disappointing when you want to buy something new but are unable to try it out first.

I now play with the '09 X Forged. I just got my set with conforming groovess after having played the original X Forged prior. I am extremely happy with the them. Maybe I'm just swinging better, but I can give you no complaints with the feel nor looks. Great clubs!

That being said, you are in an interesting situation as I am a big fan of the S57s and S58s. I hit them at a demo day when they came out. The 6iron at least, was quite nice. * Well, I see you bought the Callaways. Good choice!
