Weak push shot with irons?

Help! (This is a straight push that's about 15 yds short of a well struck shot, where the ball starts right and stays right, but has very little, if any sidespin.)

Does it feel like the ball was off the toe?

Quite possibly. I know I must be way open at impact and I don't get that compressing the ball feeling when I hit these types of shots.

That's what it feels like if the ball is out past the grooves - on the toe. Grap some impact tape and see where the ball is stiking the face. This might not be your issue, but it would be good to scratch it off the list.

Do you always watch the clubhead go back and then look back at the ball like that?? Jumps out as odd to me, but if it works for you. Like Sean said, short shots to the right usually mean that you are hitting them on the toe.

I hope I don't do that usually. But I guess it is a toe shot. It has the feel of a "thin" or bad contact shot, but for me a thinned shot goes right at the target, just low and long, not week and right. I think I may just be too far away from the ball at address?
