Does this sound ok. I am getting ready to buy the AP1 irons, but have heard of some people combining the long ap1 irons and the short ap2 irons. It sounds like a cool idea to me, considering the ap2s have a better feel, but are harder to hit. They would probably go good for short irons (because they are easier to hit than long irons) and the AP1 irons for long irons(because they are more forgiving). I am definitely going to get them fit though.

Do you think this setup would be good.

Additional Info:

I'm 15
little over 15 handicap.

15 year old's normally don't have bills so whatever money you make from a job goes straight to spending money. (I am not 15 but I didn't have any bills at that age)

I just purchased a set of AP2's and had no problems hitting them but if you don't like the longer irons of the AP2's then it is smarter to split them up

That's what I did, and I definitely gained 10 yards on 4-7 iron, and I got so much more control on my shorter irons. I'm also 15 haha.

personally, that seems liklle a poor decision...

-for me, the differenece in all those clubs are minimal, other then the look at adress. and that would drive me crazy

- if you do it, get the 7-pw in ap2. Trust me on this, you will want it.

-if your so crazy about golf, you will get better at it quick. when i was 15 i was a 15 handicap, i am 18 now and am a 3, so base your decision off that...you may not want your clunky GI irons in a year or two when your better.

I thought about that idea as well, but isn't it a problem because of different lofts? The AP1 are 2° stronger... I never played with a set of two different clubs, do you get used to the differences in hitting them? The feel between the 6 and 7 iron sure is quite different as is the playability or am I wrong?

do you think i could do ok with the ap2s. I'm sure i'll get better, but wouldn't they be a little to hard for me to hit until i am a lot better player.

I don't think the longer irons of the AP2's would be THAT much more difficult to hit. Especially since your only 15, you should have time to work on your swing enough to where it isn't an issue. I agree with the previous poster who stated it may be a good idea now, but you may regret it down the road. I, for one, could not stand to have two different models of irons in my bag....

no, infact you could get by with mp67's, they can only make you better. they arent taht hard to hit, they are still cavity backs...

no, dont listen to this. he is thinking of getting some g.i. irons mixed with semi players irons...why not just jump to complete blades while your at it, that seems so much more logical. if he gets them they will not help his game at all. sure you and most single didgets can hit them but not everyone can hit blades. they take a special very consistent swing.

if you have the money i would recommend getting bladed 9,P ap2 6,7,8 and ap1 4,5 and a titleist 503h 21*. if your trying to get better you should get some bladed short irons where you want more accuracy, some players clubs as mid irons cuz they will be slightly more accurate, and easier to hit then some g.i long irons cuz even scratch golfers can have trouble with the long irons and a hybrid for the tough lies and extra distance. just my opinion tho...
