I've been reading some or most of the Stack and Tilt threads, watching a lot of the Youtube instruction video's, some of the elements were allready in my swing (I about never had any lessons ....) the take away and backswing I use is about what Greg Norman called powermove ...... pushing your right pocket backwards, straightening your left leg, etc.......

Now I focussed on sliding the hips forward and the hands in front of the clubface, I have lots of balls being what is called a pull-draw today.

I ordered the book last week, hasn't arrived yet....

Please advise !

I get this problem from time to time. Make the club is fairly open at impact. The stock S&T; shot is a draw anyways, so just make sure the ball is starting to the right of the target.

If it's a pull-draw - ball starts left of the target and then draws or hooks - try the simplest fix in the world: aim your clubface further to the right. Report back if you can after that, but that should help.

If the clubface is already aimed to the right, I suspect you might also be trying to roll the wrists through impact, and you'll see in the book why that's typically a bad idea.

It was that simple, I accidently tried that this afternoon myself, solved ...... but I feel it is delicate .... have to find the right amount of aiming to the right.

The book also arrived this evening, lots to improve ..... not the right time to change a lot, with some monthly medals coming on, but in July I will try to invest a lot of ballbuckets to learn S&T; step by step ..... as I want to go to single handicap this year....... S&T; might be the drive needed to focus on.

Hey Erik, when you say this, you mean aiming the face to the right at address, correct? So basically just opening the face and regripping? Working on more S&T; techniques my miss has become a "straight draw/mild hook" but when I try to manipulate the face to stay open on the downswing I usually just hit a push.

Yes, at address, the clubface should be aimed right so you can push it and draw it back. You shouldn't manipulate anything on the downswing - recipe for disaster there, I think.

iacas, maybe this is its own thread but how about a simple/common fix for someone hitting ONLY pushes?

Using an iron I align to my target and start the club square to my target. Out of 30 I'll hit 29 straight pushes (#10 from the book) and 1 straight shot. My self diagnosis is Im hitting the ball with an open club face with an inside/out swing. I've tried the suggestions from the book 1 at a time over the last 3 weeks but no luck. I hit pushes. (with driver I hit a right curve but Im not sure what to call it, it starts right and curves right at the end even more) I tried aiming right and that turns it into a right curving push. At this point I might just be over thinking it, any ideas? Thanks!

How big are the pushes? Too much of a push or the right amount of push just lacking draw?

In other words, do they push to where you want them to start and just don't draw back, or do they push right of where you'd want them to start? In either case, you're dynamically opening the clubface up somewhere in your swing since you're starting with it square. It's returning to the ball more open than it was. So, without seeing a swing, it's tough to say what might cause that, but I'd investigate that before I'd look at what's preventing the ball from curving back.
