Off center hits - more distance loss - toe/heel/thin?

Do you find you lose more distance on off center shots off the toe or heel? Is it the same for irons and woods? On irons, it seems about the same, maybe more off the toe than the heel or thin. I'm guessing some of it depends on what type of clubs you use, but just trying to get a general idea.

The more loft the club has the less distance you lose thinning it obviously.

I think you

gain distance by thinning shots with high lofted clubs. I gain at least 40 yards when I thin my LW. it depends on the club. When I practice with my old set of blades I allow 15 yards if I don't strike them perfect.

      I have had the flu recently which gave me plenty of time to pore over Joseph Mayo’s instagram. I have hit a ton of shots each day on carpet and a little started how easy this shot is to make. Key thought for me is bring the club “no closer to the earth.” That really resonated with me. If I really steepen the attack angle I can hit my 58* lob wedge barely an inch or two off the ground and a repeatable distance. I don’t recommend this but tried it to what the end ranges are for angle of descent. I actually think a 62*-64* wedge might be even better for this shot.
