I searched and read about this already and I can't seem to find it now. I joined the TPGA to start posting scores and get my handicap established for State Tournaments. My cousin joined Myscorecard.com for the same reason. When I asked the TPGA officials about that site, they stated that his handicap would not be accepted at the State Tournaments. But on the site, it says that you get an official USGA handicap and can get the card to show that is official.

My question is, why would they not accept that for tournament entry? What is the difference between the two?

When I was searching earlier, I saw this question come up and Iacas replied with a very good explanation and now I can't seem to find it. I am trying to explain this to my cousin. Thanks

That doesn't seem right.

It's right. Immediately after I posted this, my cousin called the PGA office here and they told him the same thing. There is no peer review with these sites and while some of them may be exact, others are not. Instead of having to go through and check all this, it is easier just to not accept them.....for a lack of a more technical answer..LOL

I know at the site posted, you can join golf clubs, the more serious of which require you to play rounds with other members for peer review. I joined such a club and the requirement was that I play at least 3 rounds with other members. Not sure if there is a minimum required but after 3 rounds I think you would have a sense if someone is accurately putting in their scores or not.

Yeah, it is a good site for keeping your handicap to play with your friends, but in this case, you can't enter any TN State tournaments using it.

    • Day 133: did a stack session.
    • You can pre-order an R50 here for pretty rapid shipping (these are back-ordered almost everywhere): https://www.playbetter.com/products/garmin-approach-r50-golf-launch-monitor-simulator?ghref=2301%3A700794. This is an affiliate purchase, and I'm willing to kick back lifetime ad-free Supporter membership here on TST or a 90-minute GEARS session for the cost of a regular member lesson (about 1/3 the cost). Also, I'll record a video myself soon when I get an R50.
    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
