Does anyone have a set up capable of such things? I know perfection would come with a high price tag (a la konica minolta swing vision) but am curious how close I can get for a bargain.

I've seen video of a swing recorded at 720p@60FPS and the downswing was still quite blurry.

Is FPS the key? How high would it need to be?

Thanks

Funny, I JUST wrote an article about this on the main site... Buy a $300 camera. Or a $200 camera.

Nowadays you will find lots of amateur videos on Youtube filmed with those kind of cameras, and the quality (compared to the price) is just superb. Most people havent realized it yet, that you can get highspeed cams for a steal by now. They might not have those super high resolutions you are used by TV - but its really more about the FPS than resolution. And the article iacas wrote sums it up pretty well imo.

Sorry I have my Sandtrap bookmarked to the forum page

If you're really on a budget, Amazon sells the Casio EX-FS10 with 210 fps for $110.

After a lot of google-fu I found that casio is the big player, as mentioned in the article above. I found a Samsung that also does 1000fps but couldn't find much info on it and it was also more expensive. I ordered the FS-10 so we'll see how it works out!

Don't forget that you need good lighting too.  If you try to film indoors, it can get grainy.
